I just love it when the Frogs lose. They manage to screw everything up - even a football championship game that's tossed to them by the gods!

Yeah, it will. I'm soooo happy for them!

I couldn't believe the headbutt.
France seemed to dominiate and even had a goal handed to them.

My wife tells me that the fellow who missed did not play. He was put in at the end for the shoot-out, because Zidane threw his girlyman fit.

France could have lost and still looked good. But thanks to Zidane, they've disgraced their nation.
Pretty good outcome!

I don't care much for soccer, but when the Frogs lose, especially after having shown what classless, treasonous jackasses they are (e.g Zidane beahvior), well, I'm not too unsatisfied

C'mon when is the last time France has won anything in Germany? Think about it...it's destiny.

"wow I didn't realise it was his substitute who missed...OOPS!"
That's because he wasn't. You could make a fairly week argument that if Z.Z was still in the guy who missed would have sat it out but i doubt it. Since Trezeguet was brought in as a forward he would have most certainly been taking a PK even if Z.Z. was still in.

Your wife may want to refresh herself on the game. Z.Z. was tossed in the 111th minute. Trezeguet was brought on in the 100th minute to replace Ribery.

I was rooting for Zidane before the game, but now I'm happy that Italy won, though I would have preferred Germany out of the Final Four.
Now it's on to 2010, hopefully the US and Poland will do better there than they did in Germany.

Felicitazioni! Qui, ci piace un mondo ogni volta che i francesi vengano 'disciplinati'.
To: Berlin_Freeper
it's pandemonium in Rome! I called friends to congratulate Italy on its win and I could hear the noise of car horns, shouts, firecrakers from the street. My friend told me that tonight nobody will go to sleep, they will celebrate in the piazzas.

"That's it. I'm having spaghetti for dinner! :-)."
Just got home after being gone for a week with no internet or no real US news. I was rooting for Italy. Found your post and decided to order myself a pizza to go along with your spaghetti!

The French are very upset. The problem is, they burned all the cars the last time they rioted over something.
