BBC apologises for Gerry Anderson's anti Bush remark Radio Ulster has had to apologise for Gerry Anderson’s aside that George Bush could rot in hell on his birthday (tomorrow as it happens). Hmmm anti Americanism gone mad? Biased BBC has already got hold of it, so I imagine it’s half way round the US blogosphere already!

Update: You can hear the original broadcast here. More reaction here. And you can hear the original here or here on Slugger.

Hi guys,

I don't post much. In fact, this is probably just my second post. I came across a weblog in Ireland talking about some insignificant fool from BBC radio. I didn't think much of it since most of the responses were expected. See for yourselves. It's quite lovely. I did get into it with some expat, it seems. I held my ground but the dude's just brushing me off. I'm hoping some of you could pick up the slack. I don't have much of a stomach for these things. Thanks a bunch.

a decent response posted to the Bush/America haters...

"Reagan was hated too, while he was ending the Cold War. And Carter and Clinton were both loved, as the warm-up acts to 9/11. World opinion is a useful barometer, if you know how to interpret the reading.'

haha, these ingrates believing themselves to be the bards of history ...they have become the coddled fat lambs being led to slaughter...

Wasn't Gerry Anderson one of the Thunderbirds' creators?
