I have a Hopkins and Allen pistol. It looks like the safety police models that I have seen on the web. This one has a four inch barrel, however. It does have the same, mildly abused finish and black grips. On the metal on the bottom of the grips are the two numbers 88 and 600, one over the other. On top of the barrel is "Hopkins and Allen Mfg. Co." and underneath that line is "Norwich, Ct. U.S.A. Pat. Jan. 15 Oct. 15 86". Does that mean that it was made in 1886? How much is it worth?
