Policemen decapitated in Acapulco

The severed heads of two Mexican policemen have been found in the resort city of Acapulco at the site of a recent shootout with drug-traffickers.

Both were members of a rapid response unit of the federal Preventative Police which took part in the January shooting in which four traffickers died.

Their heads were dumped outside the city's finance department, 2km (1.2 miles) from the main tourist zone.

The bodies were later found wrapped in a sheet and rug elsewhere in Acapulco.

A sign left with the heads read: "So that you learn to respect."

Gun and grenade attacks in the city this year have claimed at least 12 victims.

Just hours before the heads were found, the governor of Guerrero State, where Acapulco is located, had announced he was investing $12m to acquire heavy-duty weapons, new bullet-proof vests and modernised radios for the police.

"The criminals should watch out because the good weapons are on their way," Zeferino Torreblanca told reporters.

That's what happens when you drink too much at Carlos & Charlie's.

The drug problem in Mexcio has me more worried everyday, especially being in TX. One would think stories like these and the cases of kidnappings happening in Laredo, TX people would wake up and realize we must do something to protect our borders. They claim that "there's no proof terrorists can come over" do they think that terrorists are only the ones concerned with the downfall of America? the ones we need to worry about South of the border love us! Our high schools, colleges, and run down street corners are their markets for drugs, with our inaction we're basically handing them and illicit but lucrative business on a silver platter!

If this happens in Acapulco, it can happen anywhere.
I used to go regularly to Cabo San Lucas, but quit for a variety of reasons, including clues about how the locals really feel about Americans, although they charge us three times as much as they charge the locals for the same things...

But the final "hmmmmm" moment while there was the story about the drug plane which landed near the coast a few miles north, and after the (show?) shootout, no "bad guys" were captured.

It's also interesting that the police officer quoted at the end of the article promises guns to the police... as if no one can see they are a major part of the problem...that's wonderful let's hand the local drug-lord's henchmen bigger guns and better Kevlar
