Pensacola, Fla. -- A second middle school teacher was arrested for allegedly letting students skip gym class if they paid $1 each day.
Tamara B. Tootle, 39, turned herself in Thursday and faces six counts of bribery, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities said she told students at Ernest Ward Middle School during the 2004-05 school year that they didn't have to dress for her physical education class but would still receive a 100 percent for participation for a bribe.

oops, wrong thread.
Muldoon? I'm dating myself here.
$1 to get out of gym? Whatever happened to just writing a fake note from your mom?
That was Toody not Tootle.
"Listen, America, my husband, Gunther Toody, is an idiot!"
Drop and give me ($)20!!!
sheesh she should be in Congress...
My parents called my brother and me Toody and Muldoon when we were young.
LOL! What a wonderful show!
But Ms. Tootle sounds like she's about tootled out. Geez, hitting up kids for a buck to skip PE class? She sounds like a real peach.
Have a great day.
Well, it's a sad commentary on our times that I found myself saying, "Well, at least she wasn't having sex with any of them."
I do not understand why kids would want to get out of gym. What's up with that? I didn't even have gym class until I was in 11th and 12th grade, and I loved it.
NO wonder our kids are becoming so fat! Really participate in gym class? Not any longer...
Yeah, they get to pay their ways of out it. Incredible.
When I was substituting K - 12, many PE classes in the lower grades were like that. No bribes of course, but kids not suiting up. Groups of girls pretending to twist their ankles, forgetting their gym shoes, having "cramps." Some classes spent more time fighting than exercising. I had to be careful of not doing anything too exciting or the next thing I knew the students would be throwing balls at each other rather than through hoops etc. Unbelievable.
