No, I assume you will buy the cheapest lemons on the shelf, no matter where they are grown.

I assume you will buy the cheapest lemons on the shelf no matter how they ae picked.

If we cant get legal farm workers into this country, then the farms are going to go to them.

Yep growing food and hiring the most reliable workers to pick those crops should be a crime.(/sarcasm)

when he wanted to change the constitution for arnold, that was enough for me.

That whole farmer Joe thing is a fantasy anyway. The small time farmer isn't hiring illegals anyway, he cant afford illegals. It's the big business farms with stockholders and all that are hiring illegals.

Again, you assume that the "cheapest" lemons must be picked only by hand. Cesar Chavez made the same assumtion some years ago about lettuce and tomatoes.

You're as wrong as he was.

And you know better than the actual farmers, how?

Yes.

Fruit (or vegetables or poultry or livestock) raised on California factory farms competes with produce raised on family farms. Those illegal aliens the silk stocking crowd have grown so fond of are not just competing with farmers in Argentina or the Philippines, but with family businesses in the United States.

There is a vegetable farmer right up the road from me who has a farm crew to pick his crops and do his field and orchard labor. I did not ask to see their passports, but if I had to guess, I'd say all illegals. We're not talking some giant corporation. What used to be a family farm (and still is) that has branched out into vegetables and plants with a roadside market.

The small family veggie farm down the road from me must be owned and run by honest people then. All 40 acres of it.

You still haven't answered the question of what the majority of your crops are. You answered yes, not saying which, then went into a comment.

Now what are the majority of your crops, grains or produce.

According to some on FR, that farmer is akin to the anti-christ, and all for the crime of growing food.

It's a shame that nobody picks up the trash or sells snow cones in the parts of the country where there isn't a significant illegal alien presence. I guess the people in those places must be hot & thirsty as well as hip-deep in trash, since Americans won't do those jobs.

Would you hire someone who raped your daughter, but had escaped jail? they are running around illegally, too.

What part of illegal don't you get?
