Thanks for the pic!
One of my favorite parts about the Katrian episode was the way they ripped the media's coverage of it.
Calling...
There are many superlatives that can be applied to South Park. "polished animation" is not one of them. Sorry.
The completely cheezy "animation" is part of the humor of the show.
And global warming. And the movie "the day after tomorrow". Especially when they had the scientist drawing on the map to show which parts of the country would be OK, and which would not.
I unfortunately caught that with my children. Ooops.
Not quite right, but I won't fix it because the actual line is a truly funny part of the episode which everybody should watch for themselves.
There's also a spurious reference to Lord of the Rings in the episode.
Actually that's one thing that kind of annoys them, they've got a really kick ass software animation tool that will let them do really cool stuff, but before they got that they'd developed a style of cheap and cheezy and figured they shouldn't break the look of the show. So sometimes they find some excuse to do something up to the software's potential just for the fun of using those features, like the descent into hell section of the movie and some of the stuff they have in the opening the last couple of seasons.
I think that's just as well. Who cares what their software can do, after we saw what these guys could come with using PUPPETS.

Chef's Quitting Controversy
Monday, March 20, 2006By Roger FriedmanIsaac Hayes did not quit "South Park." My sources say that someone quit it for him.
I can tell you that Hayes is in no position to have quit anything. Contrary to news reports, the great writer, singer and musician suffered a stroke on Jan. 17. At the time it was said that he was hospitalized and suffering from exhaustion.
Its also absolutely ridiculous to think that Hayes, who loved playing Chef on "South Park," would suddenly turn against the show because they were poking fun at Scientology.
Last November, when the Trapped in a Closet episode of the comedy aired, I saw Hayes and spent time with him in Memphis for the annual Blues Ball.
If he hated the show so much, I doubt he would have performed his trademark hit song from the show, Chocolate Salty Balls. He tossed the song into the middle of one of his less salacious hits and got the whole audience in the Memphis Pyramid to sing along.
<snip>
Friends in Memphis tell me that Hayes did not issue any statements on his own about South Park. They are mystified. (emphasis added)
So Hayes may be incapicated and his Scientology "handlers" may be issuing statements in his name. If that's the case then Stone and Parker would look like jerks for taking shots at him, but the Scientologists would be exposed for the psychotic NAZI moobats that they are.
I give Matt and Trey 10 days to live. Then unfortunate accidents or serious mental conditions will probably mysteriously happen.
Zenu has spoken.
There's a reason the show is on late.
And a reason for channel-blocking that my children keep guessing the numbers for......
I usually pre-watch the episodes and determine what we can watch. Somehow I had missed that one thing, and since we had just watched "the day after tomorrow" I thought it would be funny to watch Trey and Matt make fun of it.
Sweeeeet.
OK, he going to come back, but he's actuakky been the Lochness Monster in a costume this whole time.
Oh my God! That's today!
Yeah, if one wasn't totally clueless........
Oops.
Oh My God, they killed Chef.
