Before Columbine, there was a schoolyard massacre that would be the worst mass murder in US history until the Happyland Club fire, Oklahoma City Bombing, and 9/11 terrorist attack. It occurred in Bath, Michigan on May 18, 1927. Andrew Kehoe, a farmer and school board member was having money woes. He was angry that he was being taxed. He was a ticking time bomb ready to exploded. He stocked up on dynamite and had 1,000 pounds by the morning of May 18, 1927. He first destroys his house and then goes to the school and detonates the bomb at Bath Consolidated School, which had 500 people. He detonates the dynamites and it can be heard miles away. Fortunately, not all the dynamite went off. Had it all exploded, the school would of been leveled and 500 people would of been killed. Kehoe in his truck drives away and sees the superintendent and gets his rifle and shoots the dynamite. The dynamite explodes, killing him. To this day, the town of Bath mourns the 45 people who died, including 37 children. The Bath School Masscare is the worst schoolyard massacre in US history.

Thanks for remembering happy land. A crime committed with $10.00 worth of gasoline and a match. No guns involved at all, just jealousy, hatred, and a strict avoidence of fire codes. How many died? About 100, iirc.
I heard $1 worth of gasoline and 87 people dead. Worst mass murder in New York until 9/11. Julio Gonzalez did not even fire a single round. He was jealous over his girlfriend. What a loser!
I think you are right, it was only $1.00 worth of gas. A horrid crime. And the intended target worked as the coat check girl and was one of the few to escape, out a back door in the closet.
Sure was. How do you know about this case? I know it happened on March 25, 1990. Some people just need to get a grip. Just because you break up with a girl does not mean you go out and burn down a nightclub full of people. I guess his jealous consumed him.
I am very surprised myself. I first heard of this following the Columbine massacre in 1999.
