About 1 minute into his opening comments (non-prepared, just chatting with the Chairwoman Collins) states that Lobby reform will probably be more contentious than recent intelligence reform brought about under her leadership
Is this an unintentionally admission that he seeks to protect his wallet, more than protecting the American people?
To wit; if he is not of that mindset, why would he stain others with such a broad brush outrageous suggestion?
From my vantage point, its a case of the classic syndrome of the human mind
If youre a liar and a cheat you have a tendancy to think people will lie and cheat if youre honest, you find it incredibly hard to understand the opposite mindset; and you would (most likely) out of the gate on any issue presume that your colleagues are approaching lobbying reform in the same ethical manner as yourself
Praise for Senators Warner, Domenici and Coleman some of the wisest comments thus far -
Long live the Aspen Institute!
