Ben Roethlisberger reiterated a statement he made in the preseason when the second-year quarterback said the Steelers might have a worse record than last year but be a better team in 2005.

Speaking yesterday at an AFC championship game news conference that was televised by NFL Network, Roethlisberger said the Steelers (13-5) might be better than last season when they were 15-1, had the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and lost to the New England Patriots in the conference championship game.

Got to love the Seahawk's chances. If Alexander is ready, watch out world!

It is down to the four best teams. All of them look very good. I think the championship games will probably be better than the Super Bowl. Good games last week.

So poor, in fact, it would easily lead one to believe the referees had predetermined who the winner would be...

The Broncos are in trouble.

A whale made its way up the River Thames near Big Ben in London.......................... suggesting a “whale of a game” for Big Ben Roethlisberger in Denver.

"Waste of money as Deuce was pretty well used up"

There is no reason to dump on Deuce. He has been an asset to the Steelers since the day he came to Pittsburgh. Deuce is a real team player now that he got out of Philadelphia. He is not playing because he is the odd man out and some injuries. You don't hear him bad mouthing the team or anything.

Yes, the Deuce has a future somewhere.

What if Bettis retires this year? The Deuce is the perfect fit.

I agree with you. Deuce may be of some benefit next year. However, he hasn't contributed much playing time since he came to Pittsburgh. But he has provided moral support to the team.

I thought Kordell was a great athlete but dumb.

Loved him as "Slash" but he really couldn't manage the offense all that well. The upside is that I think that is part of the reason the Bus has been so great. QB problems forced him to step up and he did so magnificently. Of course Pittsburg would be a running team anyway and the Bus's power running was a good fit.

Kordell Stewart was a gifted athlete. He was a good running back, and I recall him making acrobatic receptions as a pass receiver. He was great as "Slash". He had a cannon for an arm, but he lacked the head to be a QB. There was a game against the Packers in 1998 after Kordell became the starting Steeler QB. The Steelers were trouncing the Packers 27-3 and were on the Green Bay 4 when a turn-over was returned 88 yards for a TD. Soon after the camera focused on Kordell laughing on the sidelines. ---- Red flag alert: something is very wrong with this picture, this guy does not have the mentality of a top-flight QB, i.e, he's no Joe Montana. --- The Steelers held on to win the game 27-20, but I think I saw the writing on the wall as to Stewart ever leading the Steelers to success.

Stewart had other issues that went beyond pro football, if you know what I mean.

I agree. Ben is a superb player and fits in well with the Steelers. They are a real threat because they can run the ball, and win with Big Ben's arm. The recognition will come from the media in time, but he already has it with the fans.
