Considering AIDS and the various other diseases infesting the bodies of the average sexually-active gay man, I wouldn't want his organs either
Hmmm...he's 51 and had a stroke? A little young, I'd suspect an underlying medical condition....one which probably disqualified him from organ donation.
Don't these idiots know men who have had sex with other men during the past five years can't donate blood, either? It's not all about HIM!!!
My missus needs a kidney, but if she ended up with AIDS from some poofter donor, on top of everything else, I'd dig him up and kill him again.
I notice that the story does not mention the cause of death.I would hope the friends and relatives would change their position if AIDS was the cause--
But I suppose some people would rather die than take anything from a fag.
Allowing this person's organs to be used, could open the door for other people's organs to be used. Some organs need to be used right away. In some instances that could prove disasterous for the recipient. I'll have to come down on the side of public safety. Surprisingly it seem the CDC did too, although their track record with aids has been despicable IMO.
Hey everybody! I have a great idea! Let's play pretend, and act like homosexual men aren't festering factories of filth and disease!
Maybe if Alberto went solo he wouldn't've gotten AIDS>
When my son died, I immediately thought of donating his organs...but since he died of leukemia, I realized that his organs would be unacceptable...I even asked one of his doctors, if at least his eyes could be taken to give someone else sight, but I was told no...I realize that there are guidelines, that are there for a purpose...
How does that Monty Python skit go?
Yes, we're here for your liver..
But I'm using it!
Isn't this your signature on the donor card?
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
Pretty funny.

Yep, I went to the UK during the mad cow problem years and they do not take my blood either.
Okay! I'll ping the list tomorrow.
Thanks. So I guess the Tucson paper allows a headline, at least.
I find your coarseness a little surprising. Are you not aware that a person can AIDS for some time before it shows up in tests? I've read various times, but it can be weeks or even a few months. Do you think it's responsible to allow blood or organs donated from a person who is much, much more likely to have AIDS than someone who is not a homosxual?
Even the Red Cross won't take blood from men who have sex with men. For that very reason.
Plus, there are a great number of other blood borne diseases that homosexuals are prone to.
Deathly ill, when AIDS had no name, and blood was not being screened, I had to sign my life away to get platelets. I took them. But if I didn't have to, I damn sure wouldn't.
And then there was the grief of losing a baby and the waiting....ten years and several pregnancies later...to know if I was clean.

But, like you freema, when one is dying there really isn't much to lose.
Which was my point on my earlier post, jeremiah. We have a shortage of organ donors, and people die waiting all the time. If we want to let someone know from whom the organ is being taken, and let them decide, fine. But I think, IF I were dying without it, I would take that chance.
You wouldn't?
