Last Christmas we gave our readers a present and told them that Leave It To Beaver would be out in 2005. We've been biting our tongue for a long time about the release timeframe, but now Universal has finally announced a November 22nd release date!
This will be a set of 3 double-sided DVDs, with video in the original black-and-white full screen and audio in English mono, with English and Spanish subtitles. There were 39 half-hour episodes in the first season of this classic family-oriented sitcom, starring Hugh Beaumont, Barbara Billingsley, Tony Dow, and Jerry Mathers as "The Beaver". There will be 2 kinds of packages for this release:
The first package (upper left) is a normal-style box set, which will be widely available and sell for $49.98 SRP. It utilizes "Slim Snap Cases with (an) Outer Box". Or, you can instead get the Limited Edition Collectible Lunch Box Packaging, which also comes with added value in the form of a "Cleaver Family Photo Album". The cost for the premium version is $69.98 SRP.
No word about on-DVD extras, if any, for this release yet. Stay tuned for more details about this set as the studio makes the info available. |
