Last night, many of us read the thread wherein Petronski announced his coming marriage to madame Cyborg. (Check DRUDGE: Unnamed Senior White House source: Cyborg and Petronski to be married...). During the course of the Cyborg-Petronski Thread, the subject of a Free Republic feature wherein single Freepers can meet their fellow conservatives.
I have a simple proposition. We could start a regular thread akin to the Freeper Canteen. Such a regular thread could serve as an opportunity for single Freepers to engage in Virtual Mingling. Also, any Freepers who have single, conservative offspring would be welcome to participate so as to arrange for introductions for their kids.
Special note to Jim: Just think of how many conservative would not have met fellow right-minded folks had it not been for FR! Cyborg and Petronski owe you one.

Okay single Freepers and all of you friends and relatives of single conservatives, let's see what we can do to encourage further conservative unions...

Is that buttered popcorn? If so, it is only a matter of time before someone from Science in Public Interest knocks-down your door...

Is Ann Coulter involved? That is a good question. I'll wager that she is a member of FR. If so, then Ann, dahlink, you are cordially invited to participate!

I'm bookmarking this thread. I'm married, but from what my wife says...
If I keep going the way I am, I may need it.

I cannot participate for two reasons. First, either Pissant or TheBigB would upstage me with their pajama karaoke yodeling routines or whatever....and if I were to announce my engagement, all hope would be lost not just here but at DU by SO MANY WOMEN.
On the other hand, since marrying and procreating would be the politically-incorrect way to raise up new Freeping Conservative Voters, perhaps I should brave the guilt of a few thousand broken hearts and settle for one.
Decisions, decisions....

Smart idea 'Corps...we'll just breed our own conservatives!!!
ROFL!
Teasing aside, it IS a good idea.
Over the years, I've seen several FReeper couples meet and tie the knot!

Thanks for the Obligatory photo.
Pretty good idea. Not that i've looked or anything but i think there is a free conservative singles dating site already up somewhere. From what i hear from a umm friend of a friend's sister's great uncle not many people use it.

Well, this idea has popped-up on threads in the past. I just wanted to take some action and see what happens.
The good thing is that we would know that we are chatting-up a fellow conservative. Also, we can look-up the posts of potential Freepmates and develop a good sense of their worldview.

That is why having such a regular thread on FR has greater potential. The membership is large and growing, people flock to this site, and there is a great network here (think of how many friends you make on FR).

Oh, Blurblogger, I bet you've got a woman in every port - ah - weblog. I think you are a confirmed batchelor.
Well, I'm in. I'm married but when my hubby threatens divorce, I always tell him not to give me any ideas.
My best friend would love to met a decent, hardworking, fiscally responsible man. I'll be on the lookout for a good man for her.

Again, the whole idea behind this initiative! Like I stated in the body, freiends and relatives of single conservatives are invited to participate.

When this dicussion arose some omnths ago, Arasina had some great names for a possible match service on FR. Now is the time, Arasina to suggest some titles for a regular FR Singles Thread.
