For those who may like a "live chat" now and then, there is an IRC (internet relay chat) channel up on irc.freenode.net:6667 called #freepers.
It's not part of free republic, nor owned or operated by anyone associated with free republic. It's just a place for freepers to "chat live" with each other.
Some IM clients for windows can do IRC, as well as mIRC (stand alone client for windows), along with many IRC clients for Linux and Mac. (google "IRC" and "clients" to get more info on IRC and how it works)

If you hit F5 fast enough, it's JUST like chat. . .
It is, I just added the channel name/topic so you can see it in the channel lists.
why not create a channel on undernet, dalnet, etc..?(Yeah, I know, channel splits suck, just sayin..)
Mostly because freenode is the most stable. (new Hyperion ircd coming one line shortly)
