You're not talking about that .30 caliber pistol round are you?! If you're going to buy a short .30 cal, by DSA's SA-58 carbine. It shoots a "real" .30 caliber round....7.62x51 (.a.k.a. 7.62 NATO, or .308 Winchester).

DSARMSAnd I agree with you, the .30 M1 Carbine was meant to replace the M1911. AS IF! Typically they are worthless and tend to jam a lot. I put them into the mousegun category. If you shoot somebody with one and IF he finds out about it, he's gonna be a mite bit angry. Then you'll have to stand there all day and ARGUE with him!
I favor this over the dsarms everytime: SOCOM 16
