I'm nearly blind in one eye and have very limited depth perception.... The result is these illusions of depth look more 3-D -- more real -- to me than reality does.

The swimming pool and the kneeling man gets best of show. It's a toss up. Extremely excellent 3-D work for "chalk"!!!
Wow, blown away.

Some of these guys do incredible copies of Old Masters in chalk too. It's ironic that there's better art for free on the sidewalk in front of certain museums than there is inside.

Somehow I suspect the direction the photo was taken makes a difference.

Naaah, I've been to NYC. That's a real fly.

More
here. I wouldn't go there while cubicle-bound. The sidewalk art pics are fine but they've got thumbnails of other, less work-friendly images.

This one is driving me nuts. I cannot see that chalk image on the left as a flat drawing on the ground. A poster propped up, yes, but drawn out on the ground...whew, what an illusion.

Imagine you are at a party and a little tipsy. You really, really have to go to the bathroom. What would you do when you see this???
