Some of these guys do incredible copies of Old Masters in chalk too. It's ironic that there's better art for free on the sidewalk in front of certain museums than there is inside.

No it isn't. Art has it's politics and psychophant courtiers too. Business is business so it's not what you know but who you know ....or in most cases who you blow. The Andy Warhol scene blows (chunks).

It's far closer to art than what the National Endowment for the Arts gives people money for, like Maplethorpe.
