I hate to admit it, but the guy does look rather presidential(granted it takes alot more than this to win the nomination but hence once again vanity). On a side note though he does stand a good shot at winning a national election, if you take a look back at his days as governor and what he ran on as a senator. When he ran for governor he ran under a platform of cutting taxes and i can't remember which one it was but it was either his senate or gubernatorial campaign that he ran under a flat tax. He is a social conservative but is held back by his national party. Now the question is, are the moonbats and moveon.org types going to let a rather conservative democrat like him win the nomination? (His record in the senate i believe is more liberal than he actually is, but we all know that when democrats go to washignton they have to give up some of their core beliefs or get flogged)

Any thoughts?

I remember his Father. He was a bad one and so is his Son.

"Birch is a bad baye", and so is Evan.

Bayh has about the same chance of being the RAT nominee as this assclown does of joining the NFL.

Bayh is so stiff he makes Gore look like Robin Williams. Also he's too "conservative" (yeah, right) for the liberal establishment. No threat from this guy.

My comments? That "Flickr" program is one slow application.

I belly-laughed over the pic of Bayh walking with the black couple, with a high-spired church in the background. BTW, did he rent those kids, or are they his?

Lol thats probably true but i think we have to be careful not to pull a dean again. By that i mean that were cheering so loudly for dean(or hillary in this case) since we know that they may not be very electable that democrats panic and choose somone who is electable. If you remember december up to january during the dem primaries when you had national polls, kerry was the one who actually at the time looked like he could beat bush whereas the others didnt have much of a chance. Im sure in a national poll bayh when people get to know him would register higher than hillary and if we keep running stories ala National Review "NOMINATE THIS MAN!!!" we may scare democrat activists into nominating Bayh. While its very possible we could win the popular vote in 2008 we can loose the EV count to a Bayh/Richardson ticket which i beleive is the strongest dem ticket(albeit the most conservative one too)(zell miller excluded but if miller ran i'd almost be tempted to vote for him if we put up a RINO like mccain). Indiana is 11 EV's NM is 5 and both men are very popular in their home states so its likely they would carry them(NM moreso than Indiana since its barely red this time). Thats 16 EV's, and with colorado being in the situation that it is, a coloardo flip of 9 EV's would yield 24 EV's giving dems what they need to win. Underestimating Bayh in a national election would be foolish.

I think that Bayh is one of those liberals who likes to masquerade as being more conservative than he is. The fact that his record is liberal is no fluke, unless I'm mistaken.

I think Bayh is more conservative than he lets on but as a national democrat he has to go more liberal. Personally i think as long as we nominated a solid conservative we'll be fine(ie Allen/Sanford). Lets remember now the Bayh family isnt unbeatable in Indiana, anyone remember who beat his daddy? Yes, media proclaimed idiot Dan Quayle. Quayle ran as a solid conservative and beat Birch Bayh and regardless of the nominee in 2008(dem mind you) running on conservatism is the guarunteed path to victory.

Be that as it may, Bayh masquerades as a conservative Democrat -- his voting record is quite the contrary. He may not fool us, but his self-portrayal is enough to keep MorOn.org from ever endorsing him.

And after all, it's "their" party.

Hopefully no one will have to look. Indiana Hoosiers never forget. They will have distasteful recollections of the man who drove Indiana's economy down the drain.

Remove the word "Presidential" and there's the factual statement.

I thought at one time Bayh would be a good democrat, but I was mistaken and I admit to it.

He looks more like "pandering politico," holding hands with his young son on their stroll through the woods. Who actually does that unless they're running for office?

I suppose i had a bad choice of words there but then again anybody looks presidential when you put them up next to satans prom queen.

Bd476 your from Indiana? Which campaign was it that he ran on the flat tax and social security reform, i cant quite remember. But should somone like him win the nomination all we have to do is like quayle point out that although he talks conservative on ceartain issues(ie soc reform and flat tax but in the senate clearly opposed them) and ram it down peoples throats. The only problem is that some repubs who are sitting on the fence may vote for the guy because they think him to be a decent dem(prior to 2005 he wasnt bad, but after he voted against condi for SOS we all knew he was starting to tilt left).

I actually thought he looked like a salesman, so I guess that falls in line. He's trying to sell us his politics.

You are correct. I have been ranting about this for several years. Bayh comes on local radio shows and talks fairly conservative. Then he goes to Washington and votes right down the line with Hillary and the rest.

He got elected because of name recognition and commercials which show him, his pretty wife, and his twin sons sitting on a front porch, filmed through gauze, while syrupy music plays.

He talks about "Hoosier values," but apparently his Hoosier values include voting against the Partial Birth Abortion amendment and impeachment for Clinton.

It has been a long time but I think that is basically what his Daddy did too, I mean the part about sounding conservative while actually being a radical liberal.
