CNN Celebrates the fall of Saigon (30 years ago today)
CNN News | 4/27/05

I was flipping through channels at lunchtime today when the image of a military airplane made me stop on CNN. Today is the 30th anniversary of the fall of South Vietnam, and CNN is celebrating it gleefully. The news item that caught my attention was CNN's hagiography of a true communist bum.

This communist served as a spy for North Vietnam and China during the war. He joined the South Vietnamese Air Force and was trained by US pilots. He then spent the war dropping his bombs on the wrong targets and generally screwing things up for the US and Saigon. He mournfully related how, when his superiors started getting suspicious of all his blown missions, he finally had to drop bombs on a real communist target. The CNN interviewer mourns with him for a moment.

As the communists approached Saigon, he was sent on another mission to slow them down. Instead, he bombed the US embassy and the Presidential Palace. Again, he sorrowfully relates how he missed the embassy, making its final evacuation possible. After his mission, he simply abandoned his wife and children and flew to North Vietnam, to be greeted as a hero. I doubt if his family or fellow pilots felt the same way about him.

Having abandoned his family to starvation, torture, and "reeducation" in the south, this bum rose through the ranks of the communists butchers in the north and today is assistant chief pilot for Vietnam Airlines, which will be making its first direct flight to the US this year. The interview ended with him smilingly describing how he had always wanted to fly and how he is so looking forward to being part of his airline's part in international air travel.

Tnanks CNN, for helping celebrate the fall of Saigon and 30 years of communist torture and butchery in such a compelling way.

Perhaps if flying doesn't work out for him, he can be a well-paid "analyst" for CNN.

He would be a perfect Viet Nam War Vet for Kerry if Kerry runs again.

After all, it was the high-water mark of the Liberal Golden Age (8/74 through 11/79.)

Another example of the pandering of the hard-left to despotic, loser, and communist governments -- just to be mingling amongst allies and friends. And the Communist-News-Network is trumpeting the communist call to victory. May your ratings continue to plummet as you herald the call to American communism.

2005 is also the 60th anniversary of Hiroshima/Nagasake.

Look for ALL the hippies to come out of their caves in August.

Yep. Just happened to flip through the channels and caught a piece Carol Lin was doing on CNN. The stupid liberal automaton was commenting over a piece of tape showing people desperately trying to get on helicopters to flee Saigon. She said people were desperately trying to flee "a war zone." No, you stupid fluff-head, they were trying to flee COMMUNISM!!!!
