Is anyone else concerned?!?!?

Posted on 01/20/2005 8:17:38 PM PST by Keith Burwell

Is anyone else concerned that the latest group of suspected terrorists are CHINESE illegals? The last time I checked, China was not exactly brimming with Islamic fundamentalists. Maybe they just became Islam's MOST FAVORED NATION.

I'm concerned that their civil liberities and human rights aren't violated while here illegally in the U.S., and that they can obtain a guest worker permit. /sarc

More likely they are illegals who stiffed the smuggler his fee and turning them in was his way to get back at them.

I think they're just the ethnic group of the day the main stream liberal media seeks to excoriate.

Who are located in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, which the Chinese government is trying to "ethnic cleanse," just like in Tibet.

You need to check again. Try the area right up against the Afghan border.

Some of the Chinese students on campus here are Muslims. There are more than some people may think.

if you are talking about the Boston thing, this has been discredited for the time being. The caller who called this in said there were also two Iraqi's with them and Nuclear oxide was to follow. Well there is no such thing as that and they think this was a gang related thing trying to get certain elements arrested.......

Actually, by their names, the four sought by the FBI are likely not from Xinjiang, where the Uyghurs have very non-Chinese sounding names (they speak a Turkic language as their first language--an applicant to our graduate program is from Xinjiang, and has a long almost Turkish sounding name, list Uyghuric as his first language, Han as his second, and English his third).

If the folks on the FBI alert are Muslims, they are Hui (who speak Han as their native language and have Han-sounding names) who could be from just about anywhere in China.

"Nuclear oxide" could be any of the oxides of plutonium or uranium.
A plutonium oxide in power from would make an extrordinarily nasty 'dirty bomb', as it's chemically very toxic (think lead poisoning, but worse) and an alpha emitter: a little particle lodged in the lung will almost certainly cause lung cancer.

A plutonium-based dirty bomb would be more than just a panic weapon. It would actually be physically dangerous and the area around the blast zone uninhabitable for decades. Colbalt 60 and U-235 are also dangerous. U-238 (the most common form of Uranium and used in depleted uranium weapons) would be nothing more than a panic weapon.

True but I do not trust the Chinese government. They have helped islamic nations in the past. They gave Pakistan nukes, almost gave Libya nukes, assisted in Saddam's weapon programs. Even sent men to help the Taliban in the Afganistan war (although they were pwn3d by US forces).

I also forgot to mention that China is also assisting Iran's nuclear program too.
