THE Big Brother celebrities looked like ghoulish extras in a horror film yesterday - after their first boozy night in the house. Leading the field was unpopular racing pundit John McCririck, who was only too happy to show off his poor form as he stripped down to his white pants.
And actress Brigitte Nielsen nearly came through on her promise to go naked in the house, with just a skimpy towel covering her assets in the sauna.
All the contestants looked worse for wear as they wandered round the house bleary-eyed after Blazin' Squad rapper Kenzie's 19th birthday on Thursday night, where they tucked into cake and champagne.
Former Happy Mondays raver Bez stayed in bed all morning while author and critic Germaine Greer rose looking as if she'd been out on the town.
If the sight of McCririck in his underwear wasn't upsetting enough, his chauvinistic views soon made him public enemy number one with the women.
The self-confessed failure clashed with model Caprice, feminist Germaine and DJ Lisa I'Anson.
Prancing McCririck told Caprice: 'Women like you have had it easy all your lives.'
The furious American replied: 'That is the most ignorant thing you've said.'
McCririck hit back: 'Well, it's true. A good-looking woman has it made.'
His rants have made the balding TV tipater the bookmakers' favourite to be the first evicted next week.
Things got even more heated when he shouted to Caprice: 'Nobody says you don't work hard, prancing up and down the catwalk or whatever.
'No, the best thing is for men to go out with ugly girls because they're grateful for what they get.'
Pointing at Caprice, he added: 'That thing there, she's got so many men after her, she can't tell if they're after her for her intellect or her money.' But Germaine intervened: 'For f *** 's sake John, leave the woman alone. You know sweet f *** all about her.'
McCririck had already upset Caprice by talking about farting, which she refers to as 'flatulating'.
The model moaned to Lisa she was kept awake by breaking wind.
Lisa said: 'We can only assume it was one of the two boys on that side.
'Bez may be at a high level coming down to you and John is strong enough to reach over here.'
McCririck also wound up the group by telling them about picking his nose and his joy at George W Bush winning a second term in the White House.
And he threw his hands up in disgust as Germaine and Lisa informed him they were vegetarians He said: 'Oh my God. Bloody vegetarians. They're all fruit and nut cases - remember that. Vegetarians, they're problem women.'
And he brought a hushed silence over the group by telling them how his wife got her pet name Booby.
The pundit said she was named after a bird because she is 'not very bright, flaps around and squawks a lot'.
He said his marriage was a 'disaster' before claiming he was still with his wife because, 'I've taken pity on her'.
Lisa broke the silence, exclaiming: 'God, are you for real? You mean everything you're saying don't you?'
Gesturing towards Germaine, he then ranted: 'The misery this woman has caused by encouraging women to be above their station is awful, awful.'
McCririck then took a pop at Rocky star Sylvester Stallone's ex, Brigitte, saying she had 'been through men'.
But he made her laugh by saying: 'When I knew she was coming on I developed my muscles. I thought after Arnold and Sylvester I'd be in with a chance with muscles.'
Viewers for the launch of Celebrity Big Brother were two million down on the last series at 5.2 million.
Ex-Holby City's Jeremy Edwards is favourite to win the £50,000 prize for charity, with odds cut to 2/1.
Channel 4 are also donating nine pence from every vote to the Asian tsunami appeal.
Bez has revealed what he plans to do with the money paid to each celeb, reportedly up to £50,000.
He said: 'I'm spending it on a Mazda RX8 and a pink London taxi pimped up with spinner alloys.'

There's a cool midget on the Minstry of Mayhem (a kids Saturday programme in the UK). But it's not reality TV.
I don't normally watch the Big Brother shows, but I think I'll watch this to vote for John McCririck...just so I can seen Germaine Greer strangle him to death or something!
