Sean Hannity, Why He Connects With Conservatives

On a personal note, I would like to thank Sean Hannity for supporting Rush Limbaugh the way he did. When Rush first admitted his dependency, Sean stood by him. He didn’t have to. He didn’t need to. He just did. He didn’t jump to conclusion while waiting for the allegations to straighten themselves out. Now, he continues in his support with the interviews to Roy Black. It is that undying loyalty, much like Lou Gherig, that gains my respect and admiration as well. And yes, I have been Hannitized. I listen three hours a day, just as Sean asks.

KEYWORDS:
Sean agrees, “Rush is the Babe Ruth of radio.” If Rush is the Babe Ruth, Sean is Lou Gherig. Or better yet, Roger Hornsby. A powerhouse conservative adding the one, two punch in a knockout blow to liberalism. Like Roger Hornsby, he is here for the duration. Already winning his first Marconi award, he is primed to take America by storm. He has become my second favorite radio talk show host, with a lineup including Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, Ann Coulter, and Mark Levin.

There’s something special about Sean Hannity. What is it? Why does he connect so well with conservatives? He has personally renewed my faith in some television journalists. Prior to Hannity and Colmes, I had no interest in the television news media. Hannity’s quick wit and sharp tongue, produce a “Don’t come on my show and lie to me attitude.” Much like Rush, he seeks the truth, annihilating liberalism with every word. He brings justice in a city known as “The Liberal Mecca.” Is it his good looks, his research, or his easygoing style with his callers? It’s more than that.

He identifies with the general public. He relates well to everyday people because he is one. His successes were determined through hard work, perseverance, and risk taking. He has worked his way from Long Island to Atlanta and back to New York with little help. He has been and continues to be an inspiration to “working people” everywhere. Much like Rush, he shares some of his personal life, making him all the more real to his listeners. These are intimate moments; little glimpses into his life ordinary liberals don’t share. His traditional values and solid faith in God has landed him a syndicated talk radio program. His hard work is what identifies him most in the eyes of Americans.

Sean Hannity started working when he was eight. He had a paper route with papers such as the New York Post and Newsday. At twelve, he began scrubbing pots in a restaurant, attacking grease as he now attacks liberalism. Maybe that’s where the work ethic all started, in a house on Long Island. A family that believed if you didn’t work, you didn’t come begging for money. Sean tells it best, saying, “In my family, you were expected to participate.” An everyday job was something that gained him respect. It is stamina, discipline, and devotion to his trade, keeping on top of the conservative community, second only to Rush Limbaugh. Those qualities and work ethic connects him to conservatives. Add in a touch of “local boy done well” and the sky’s the limit.

For example, I can remember specifically listening to Sean’s show when his wife, Jill, came on. She had recently bought another wedding ring, her third upgrade, much to Sean’s chagrin. He sniffed her motive out within five minutes of her studio appearance-a truth seeking ability making mothers jealous everywhere. He extracted the truth as if he were the Spanish Inquisition, yanking it from her with ease. It seems as if Jill had come to see Sean for two reasons. One, she missed him. Two, she wanted to comfort him while bringing him the bad news. She spent a lot of money on the upgraded ring.

“On a scale of one to ten,” Sean said. “What would you say the damage is?”

“I’d say it’s a ten. A big ten,” Jill replied.

Of course, like any man, he reacted as if the world has ended, laughing. That was the most endearing part of the show. But even more intriguing was when he discussed the fact he never wore a wedding ring, ending it with his wife explaining why she didn’t mind.

By bringing his personal life to the front, he endears himself to millions of listeners, each identifying something special about Sean. Similarly to Rush, he continues to build a rapport with the United States of America. He is listened to in over 400 radio stations. His radio and television shows reach more viewers than ever before. He is one of the hottest commodities in radio. He continues his crusade in the advancement of conservative principles, striking fear through the hearts of liberals, and uniting conservatives for three hours a day and one hour each night.

Sean Hannity will continue to grow. His clean-cut, nice guy persona will gather in his flock. His hard hitting, quick wit, and sharp tongue will execute liberal lies as if cutting butter with a hot knife. I can only respect and admire a man that has experienced the levels of success he has, considering he once had to borrow money from his father to rent an apartment.

Sean Hannity has come up the hard way, through arduous work, perseverance, and conservative truth. It’s not hard to tell why Sean connects with me. It’s his Catholic faith, his level of success through risk taking, and his love of America and its people. That’s more than enough for me. The question is done Sean Hannity connect with you?

Hmm. Maybe I'll listen to Sean Hannity from time to time.

Usually I don't, because in Oregon, we have Lars Larson (a local talk show host) who may quite possibly be the next Rush.

In fact, the state Democrat Party issued a memo to Democrat officials to not go on Lars's show because they don't have time to do "Entertainment media." In other words, they realized that they have no chance against him.

Lars sounds good. I hope he continues to grow with success. It sounds as if the liberals are running scared already.
