Leftist news outlet The Huffington Post responded angrily to Donald Trump’s suggestion that drug kingpins and child sex traffickers should face the death penalty.
In an article headlined “There’s A GOP Plan For An Execution Spree If Trump Wins The White House,” the outlet highlights remarks Trump made two years ago.
Trump said that while it “sounds horrible” to advocate for the death penalty, countries that don’t have a “drug problem” are “those that institute a very quick trial, death penalty sentence” for traffickers.
“You execute a drug dealer, and you’ll save 500 lives, because they kill on average 500 people,” Trump said at the time.

The article goes on to cite former Trump DOJ official Gene Hamilton, noting he advocated pursuing the death penalty for violent criminals, particularly convicted pedophiles.
Hamilton wrote:
The DOJ “should also pursue the death penalty for applicable crimes—particularly heinous crimes involving violence and sexual abuse of children—until Congress says otherwise through legislation.”
The Huffington Post piece refers to past court decisions, arguing that the death penalty for child rape “would violate constitutional protections against cruel and unusual punishment.”
It also throws shade on efforts in states such as Florida to expand the death penalty to such horrific crimes, then points out Joe Biden has previously opposed execution entirely but is currently remaining silent.
The article then points to multiple bills in the House and Senate that seek to abolish the death penalty for any crime.
Why does the death penalty for convicted violent child rapists trigger the left?
The Left opposes this because they see nothing wrong with Child Sex Trafficking.

The left is outraged. Trump is calling for a proper punishment while they are trying to normalize it.
Child Sex Traffickers contribute greatly to Democrat coffers and vote totals. Why wouldn’t they protect them?

Rent prisons in the country of the traffickers. Put them there. Cheaper. No 4th amendment.
If the perpetrator is caught in the act or there is incontrovertible proof of his perversion and actions, I’m good with it. Preferably by millstone tied around the neck and a deep pond.
If it’s a “He touched me 40 years ago” testimony, I don’t feel the same. there’s a reason for statutes of limitations.
As Donald Trump has said, and as we know, “Everything the Left touches turns to $hit”.
Bill, Hillary and the Podesta brothers were likely panicked.
So leftists/Democrats/progressives now support child trafficking? No surprise there. The Democrat Party is now and has always been the Party of Slavery.

The death penalty is too lenient. Pull the switch and their troubles are over.
