Inflation Roars Back: Dow Jones Plummets Over 400 Points as Economic Concerns Escalate

Just as confidence grew that inflation was tamed, it rears its head again, sending shockwaves through the markets. The Dow Jones takes a nosedive of more than 400 points following January's inflation report, which significantly surpassed expectations.
Economists find themselves puzzled as both Core CPI and headline CPI register higher than anticipated for the second consecutive month. The unsettling reality extends beyond these headline figures, with inflation soaring in essential areas:
Car Insurance Inflation: 20.6% Transportation Inflation: 9.5% Hospital Services Inflation: 6.7% Car Repair Inflation: 6.5% Homeowner Inflation: 6.2% Rent Inflation: 6.1% Food Away From Home Inflation: 5.1%

I expect to see some big losses on the Dow, NASDAQ and other stock trading platforms this year.

Car Insurance Inflation: 20.6%
if a 5 mile per hour fender bender did not total those newfangled electric vehicles maybe insurance could be cheaper

Why should I have to pay more for other people's purchasing mistakes?
Mandated insurance ticks me off. Why is it like socialism. I want to pay for what I am being covered for, not to cover other people.
They gouge everyone all day long but if you have to file one claim, they fight you tooth and nail. Meanwhile they spend billions of our money to make celebrities richer and barage us with ads all day long.

Gee...the FR thread just above this one is titled “Annual inflation falls to 3.1%”
Looks like we have real news vs fake news.

I didn't. Neither has the gouging that has been going on which makes it even worse.
The DOW going down is just part of the market ebbs, and flows. Not a big deal. The DOW has been setting new highs over the last few months, and I'll take that all day.

Printing money we don’t have, government spending trillions we don’t have and laws forcing $20 per hour to flip burgers plus so much more…it’s a perfect storm of destruction of this country.

“Car Insurance Inflation: 20.6%”
Yeah, no kidding. I was shopping for car insurance and got a quote in late December. 3 days later, the quote was almost exactly 20% higher, without any change in the driving record of anyone in my family.
My hatred of insurance companies knows few boundaries. There are a few decent ones out there (like USAA), but the rest are a bunch of utter scum.
Oh, and before I forget: thanks a crapload to the Dem cabal that is running Grandpa Hairsniffer, you’ve once again utterly screwed the general public. How anyone could vote for more of the same just boggles my mind.

Not that I wish for people to lose their investments, but I hope the stock market continues to tank, just so people can start to see just how bad this economy is.
