Fulton County DA Fani Willis screws the pooch!

But refuses to step aside

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis says she has no plans to step down from the Georgia election subversion case over allegations she’s having an affair with her lead prosecutor to whom she has paid $650,000 in two years. Her decision is driven in part over concern that her departure would effectively end the case against Donald Trump and his multiple defendants.

Instead, Willis is preparing to counter arguments from Trump and other co-defendants, not by necessarily disputing claims about the relationship but by arguing that defense attorneys seeking to remove her are wrong on the law.

Former president, Donald Trump, has been charged with orchestrating a “criminal enterprise” to reverse Georgia’s results in the 2020 election and subvert the will of voters, a specious charge at best, and Willis' dalliances with the lead prosecutor has thrown the case into turmoil.

Willis has made headlines over the past two years as she has charged former president, Donald Trump, with attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

The sprawling racketeering case still has no trial date, and Willis and her team are keenly aware that the window to go to trial before the 2024 election is rapidly shrinking. Any change in the team handling the prosecution would likely delay the proceedings and it’s unclear if another Georgia prosecutor would even be inclined to take up the case, given its political and legal challenges.

Willis has faced immense public scrutiny since allegations first surfaced that she has benefited personally and financially from her romantic relationship with her hand-picked lead prosecutor, Nathan Wade.

Despite her relative public silence since the allegations surfaced, Willis has been personally involved in crafting her office’s formal response, according to a source familiar with her role.

The ensuing controversy has fueled a national conversation about the potential political motives behind the charges against Willis. Trump himself has insinuated that Willis may be operating under the influence of the White House, adding fuel to the fire. The debate has escalated to the point where the notion of Willis’s removal from the Trump prosecution is actively being discussed.

Willis has also admitted to having a sexual relationship with Nathan Wade, the attorney she appointed to prosecute Trump, yet she defends her adultery by claiming the affair only began after she appointed him, which is an even a worse abuse of power. If Willis was a Republican, this case would be done and over.

Why did Willis hire Wade to lead the Trump case rather than picking any one of the dozens of deeply experienced trial prosecutors in the Fulton County DA’s office? Wade is conspicuously under-qualified for this particular assignment. According to his own website, he has primarily practiced personal-injury and family law.

Wade's defenders say the man was a judge and a prosecutor, but with all due respect, not really, or not in any way that would prepare him for this case -- a political trial to take down a former president. Wade held those titles only at the municipal level, handling petty misdemeanors or less. He has never -- repeat, never -- tried a single felony criminal case. Yet Willis selected him to lead the most complex and important racketeering case in Georgia history.

Something else was going on.

Then there's the question of why has Wade been paid so much money? The other two outside attorneys working the Trump case were employed at an hourly rate of $250 and over the past two years have billed the DA's office for about $73,000 and $90,000, respectively.

Wade, on the other hand was paid a whopping $653,000 during the same period. Perhaps he has worked more hours than his colleagues, but seven to nine times more?

Willis herself, as the top prosecutor in the county, receives approximately $198,000 annually. That's a whole lot less than Wade's $325,000 a year. Wade once billed the DA’s office for 24 hours in a single day totaling $6,000 in November 2021. If he actually did work around the clock without pause for sleep, food, or the bathroom, my hat’s off to him. If not, then somebody’s bilking the taxpayers.

Now for the big question -- how much of Wade’s income has been spent on Willis? We don’t know the exact nature of their relationship; Trump and others allege it’s romantic, and neither Willis nor Wade has denied it, but they have traveled together -- on Wade’s dime -- to Napa Valley, Florida, and the Caribbean. They also took ocean voyages on both the Norwegian and Royal cruise lines.

Whatever the specifics of the relationship, the problem here is that Wade has used public funds paid to him by the DA’s office to pick up the tab for personal expenses for himself and Willis.

Wade said their relationship began in 2022 -- after he was hired by Willis as prosecutor and before the charges charges were filed against Trump (August 2023). He says he didn't use the money he received from Willis, but his own. Well, duh! Once he was paid by the DA's office that $650,000 was "his own" and he spent a lot of it on DA Fani Willis and in the end, all it got Wade was divorced. His life, as he knew it, is over. Fani Willis

Fani Willis used money and sex as a tool to manipulate her subordinate in her fraudulent case against President Trump and she'll burn Wade to save her own fanny in a heartbeat.

You really can’t make this corrupt and disgusting stuff up. If a man was doing what Fani is doing he would’ve been forced to resign already. Fani plays the race card

After these allegations surfaced, Willis made the situation worse by playing the race card.

She responded to the allegations against her, not in a court filing, but in a speech from the pulpit of a historic Big Bethel AME Church on Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the cameras rolling. Willis told the assembled congregation (and the general public) that the charges against her were raised because she is black.

Despite her claim that she’s "being treated cruelly," the district attorney is no victim. She has betrayed her public trust in the process of trying to frame Donald Trump. This is deeply serious stuff.

Prosecutors love to proclaim that "we do our talking in court" and this is more than a catchphrase. It’s an affirmation of their core duty to protect the defendant’s interests and the integrity of our criminal process. Subpoenaed

The House Judiciary Committee just issued a subpoenaed against this crooked and corrupt Fulton County District Attorney for all documents related to the Fulton County DA's office receipt and use of federal funds.

Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has subpoenaed Willis, accusing her of misusing federal funds that is suspected of being sourced from the White House and firing a whistleblower from her office over who had complained about the misuse of federal funds in Willis' office.

Willis is now grappling with an array of twenty-two charges. This is a significant number and a testament to the seriousness of the coming investigations that have not only drawn public attention but have also stirred a vigorous political debate.

The Georgia Senate has taken the extraordinary step of passing a resolution to set up a panel to probe into Willis’ conduct, a decision that has split the body along partisan lines.

Calls to step down

Even CNN guests are calling for Fani Willis to recuse herself because it will affect the future of the prosecution by playing right into Trump's hands.

"These allegations are an unwelcome distraction. They play right into the hands of team Trump's defense. Which is the witch hunt, the overreaching, the trying to knee cap him for political gain. What she has done, it shows a level of arrogance"

Former Trump campaign official and Trump co-defendant, Michael Roman, has already filed a motion to dismiss the grand jury indictment and to have Willis, Wade, and the entire district attorney's office removed from the case for cause.

Calls for impeachment

State Rep. Charlice Byrd, a Republican, filed a resolution on Friday to impeach Willis, accusing her of various acts of "malfeasance, tyrannical partiality, and oppression."

Accusing Ms. Willis of suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome," Ms. Byrd alleged that the Fulton County DA used her office for personal and political reasons and not to pursue justice.

"Fani Willis has a laundry list of potential conflicts that make her unworthy and unfit to be the District Attorney in Fulton Count. Someone elected to that office is expected to uphold the law and not weaponize their office for personal and political gain."

A public outcry

Willis will rue the day she ever launched her persecution against Trump. That’s right, persecution, not prosecution. Prosecution implies justice might be the goal and this trial, like the others, exists for only one reason -- to destroy Donald Trump and prevent his reelection to the off of president.

Willis broke all the rules and there’s even more issues on top of the stuff addressed here. There's the firing of whistleblowers, the misuse of grant money, and the big one -- her communications with the White House.

The meetings between Fulton County personnel and unknown members of the White House staff took place in 2022. Wade billed eight hours of work -- at a $250 hourly rate -- for a May 23, 2022, event listed in an invoice as “Travel to Athens; Conference with White House Counsel," and on November 18, 2022, Wade charged the county another $2,000 for an “interview with DC/White House."

These invoices raise serious questions about the White House involvement in the lawsuits directed at the former president.

Fani Willis’s prosecution of Donald Trump is headed toward the shoals, the wind has picked up, and it looks like the whole case will run aground. It's bad in Georgia, but it’s about to get worse.

At the bare minimum Willis must be removed from this case, but to be honest the entire case should be thrown out at this point.

Another example of a DA who is ethically and professionally unqualified to represent The State.

She needs to be removed form her office via impeachment and a disciplinary bar hearing needs to be conducted for ethics violations, confering with Kamala Harris in Washington before indicting Trump, frauduent appropriation of federal funds. This woman is a crook and a protegee of knee pads herself.

There is more than enough evidence in the Public Domain to Indict and probably Convict both of them for Honest Services Fraud. But why should black people be held to the same legal and ethical standards as white people?

Fulton County DA Fani Willis screws the pooch!

I don’t know if she’s been doing that with dogs, it wouldn’t surprise me. Screwing is what got her in this mess in the first place however.

If she were white, and a man, she would have been jailed already, or maybe even worse. That is a fact.

Oh, to go one day without hearing the word, racism. No, Fani, melanin has nothing to do with it. Hate, sex, lies, money, evilness and self aggrandizing is what is going to be your downfall.

I find the pictures on this thread to be very telling.

He’s the Con and she’s the Mark.

If there were real prosecution of this, I would expect these two to fold like a wet paper bag. The entire scam would reveal itself as these two struggle to implicate each other.
