West Coast Braces for Meteorological Drama… Snow by the Feet Predicted, East Enjoys Unseasonable Warmth
Citizen Watch Report ^

Prepare for nature’s grand spectacle as a potent cyclone, fueled by an intense atmospheric river, takes aim at the West Coast. While not reaching the legendary ARkStorm 1000 status, this system promises significant impacts, with the next few days poised to be the most intense. Intriguingly, snowflakes dance over the ocean as cold Alaskan air journeys south, setting the stage for a mountain snow extravaganza in the Western U.S. Snow accumulations measured by the feet, hurricane-force wind gusts, and the formation of a cyclonic structure reminiscent of tropical storms—all elements contributing to this atmospheric symphony.

Happens more years than not.

Wasn’t it .ast year that the mountains in California had massive yard’s thick snow? Remember seeing video clips of the towns trying to snowblower their way out- snow was over the roofline 9n many homes.

Here on the East Coast temperatures and precip are about normal.

That is due to “climate change” and is a “climate emergency”.

It’s been a mild Winter so far in the Northeast. Still have 4-6 weeks of potential snowy wintery weather ahead. But, the weather is different each and every year, it’s weather.

Here in central Texas all ponds are full and running over the spillways. Nice change from multi year drought. Now if we could just get some of this rain from July-August life would be great!

In the southeast, we have gone from lows of around 15 with highs around 40 early last week, to lows in the 30s and highs around 60 this week. In addition, after the cold we had several days of non-stop rain. The forecast says we can expect sunny days for the rest of this week and beautiful spring-like weather. I’ll take it!

IF gets of the zero-visibility fog that has been hanging for the last week, then I’m all for it.

Nice! The old family ranch is in Mills and Brown counties, hopefully this means my tanks are full. We have windmills for the cattle, but they like the tanks too of course. Good for the deer too, we lease to hunters during the season.

Climate change is here have no doubt
Too much rain too much drought
Run in circles scream and shout

It’ll cook your brain and freeze your feet
Too much rain too much heat

Snow coming soon no relief in sight
Tornados and floods you better run for your life

Climate change is here better hide in fear.
They need more money or it gets severe

Too much rain too much drought
Run in circles, scream and shout

I live in Tacoma, WA. The current temperature at 0854 hours is 53 degrees. I don’t see much chance of snow at the moment.

Repent sinner!

I know that snow cyclones can happen because Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyylllennhaaalll, and Emy Rossum told me so. The Snowpokalypse is the result of climate change!

Now go bow before mother gaia and ask for forgiveness!

The little boy that cried wolf...

Every event is now reported with dooms day drama to the point no one cares (and the media is losing what little credibility it has)

“East Enjoys Unseasonable Warmth”

Nonsense. The warmth is absolutely normal this time of year.

‘January Thaw’
2014-01-12 11:02:41.000 – Samuel Hewitt, Summit Intern

Some meteorologists refer to weather phenomenon that occur on or near a certain date as a ‘singularity’. The most common temperature singularity is known to most as the ‘January Thaw’, a period of anomalous warming in the northeastern United States which normally occurs from mid-to-late January. What sets this singularity apart from most is that it occurs during the second coldest month of year for this region. An article by Godfrey et al. 2002 investigated the thaw, performing a statistical analysis in order to try and disprove its existence. They concluded that the warming spells occurred by chance and were not statistically significant. The authors noted that it is important to recognize that they did not prove, and cannot prove, that the ‘January Thaw’ does not exist.
