I don’t think the VP will be from a State with less than a million people who are all already going to vote for the R nominee regardless of who the VP is. South Carolina makes more sense.

No need. DeSantis won’t be the nominee. Most DeSantis supporters are being realistic these days. Haley makes sense from a political standpoint. And also from the other standpoints he mentioned. Trump’s legal troubles are not going away.
I can see the establishment allowing Trump to be elected and then possibly removed from office.
