“According to reports, Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, and Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, are leading efforts to prevent any meaningful version of this provision from being added to the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act.”

“The remarkable nature of Schumer’s bipartisan legislation is only trumped by revelations that key members of Congress appear intent on blocking or neutering it for what seems to be no good reason.”
“There are no beings from outspace visiting earth.”
That you personally know of.
Could you kindly submit your credentials that enable you, above all others on earth, to have final say so on the matter.
And possibly threatening to harm them or their families if they don't do as told.
Except I’m not the one who made the claim. That would be… you.
As my Grandfather used to say: “if you can’t back it up - why say it?” ;)
That fact that you haven't been keeping up isn't my problem...it's yours.
Do your homework.
Was your granddad lazy and entitled too.;-)
Exactly. Of all my concerns, this is number 1 million on my important list.
When you post to a thread, anyone can respond.
I asked a question. You declined to provide a citation for your claim.
I liked your take and thoughtful comments on UAP, UFO, etc.
But I guess you’re just another “I make the claim but you do the research to verify my claim” poster depending on the issue. That’s disappointing.
Good luck.
And BTW, the air training area wasn't closed permanently (sorry if I left that impression). It was temporarily closed at various times whenever pilots entering the area to train encountered these strange craft.
Former Navy rear admiral supports UFO whistleblower claims
But then here you are, instead of spending time on the other 999,999 issues and articles on your list.
Why is that? Do you just like to hear yourself complain?
Of course Six Ways Chuck is involved……
“Ping to a good summary of what happened to the UAP Disclosure Amendment to the current NDAA.”
A version was passed but it is totally ineffectual. Just set up another level of bureaucracy to bury information.
It’s like when a wife accuses her husband of having an affair and he denies the affair but refuses to let her see his phone and/or credit card statement.
~~~
I’m not a lawyer, but even when married, I should think the husband has the right to refuse showing those things.
But that’s not your point. It’s the appearance of impropriety when someone doesn’t cooperate with interrogation. N’est pas?
I don’t understand why everyone thinks it’s okay to unveil state and national security seccrets.
Sure you are curious.
So am I. I was reading books on this stuff while my peers were reading comic books or Tokien or whatever. Like spooky Mulder ‘I wanted to believe’, but I’m hyper skeptical and it’s almost all just as concocted as the aforementioned comic books and fantasy novels.
So the arguments I’m getting is that these are bad people, bad corporations, and nobody can be trusted.
But what is the point of the transparency besides rabid curiosity?
I’m looking at it from a risk/reward standpoint, and while poeple can tell me what the risks of keeping national security secure are, they can’t seem to convince me that there is some great reward for ‘transparency’ that is worth it. The motives seem selfish at best, and as I have said in other threads, I just don’t trust that the driving forces behind the push for transparency aren’t friendly to us.
The more I hear of this, the more I am convinced that ‘lil Chuckie Schumer is putting this in as a straw man, to distract from whatever his controllers really want.
Whenever I hear “bi-partisan” or Schumer, then I can smell a rat through the Internet.
Something is certainly up, but whatever it is, it isn’t the shiny watch that the media wants us to focus on.
The DOD had its chance to manage an organized disclosure. Now what's called "catastrophic" or "uncontrolled" disclosure is going to take place.
As some have said, this is on the MIC contractors. They should have cooperated with Congress instead of being greedy.
The legislation that was killed exempted national security secrets from public disclosure.
