WHAT INNOCENT CIVILIANS?
Powerline ^ | 5 Dec 2023 | John Hinderaker

The Biden administration is demanding that Israel take even more extraordinary measures to avoid harming “innocent civilians” as it tries to eradicate Hamas. Around the world, politicians and others express dismay at the alleged number of innocent civilians who have been killed by Israeli bombardments, even while admitting that Hamas’s casualty numbers include its own terrorists, people killed by terrorists’ awol missiles, and so on.

But my complaint is more fundamental. Watching videos of Israeli captives being paraded through Gaza, and seeing “civilians” spitting on them, hitting them, joyously celebrating their capture, I have asked: where are these innocent civilians we keep hearing about?

In the Times of Israel, Avigdor Liberman makes the point in a column titled “Innocents in Gaza? Don’t be naive.”

[T]here is no shadow of a doubt that among those who took part in the attack on southern Israel, provided the intelligence on the homes of the residents, and led the mob in the second wave of looting and destruction were Gazans who worked in the kibbutz communities they invaded. They earned a living and ate in the homes of the massacred residents, some of whom were the very residents who helped Gazans and their families when they were sick, and took care of transporting them from Gaza to Israel for life-saving treatments in Israeli hospitals.

Even if they were innocent, so what?

The Israeli’s choice is to protect their own innocent civilians.

So therefore they go to kill Hamas and civilians will likely die in the process as collateral damage.

That’s reality.

Sorta like green energy can’t meet demand. The left purports not to believe that reality either.

Then the Gazans need to overthrow Hamas and sue for peace.

But, of course, they are perfectly in tune with Hamas, so that will never happen.

Gaza’s population is about 650,000. Assuming about half of that number is the adult electorate, the 72% that voted for Hamas is about 234,000. I’m ok with that number of Nazi supporters being killed. About 15,000 have been killed so far (according to Hamas), so we’re still in good shape.

“Even if they were innocent, so what?”

HAMass is not concerned with “innocent” Gazan civilians. They continue to use them as shields.

Why should anyone else care?

If they are really innocent, Egypt should let them into Egypt until HAMass is gone.

80% of the Gazans voted Hamas into power. So, at best, there are 20% who only share the blame — they could have objected. Since they did nothing, they lost their innocence.

Tough.

The only “Palestinian Civilians” are the ones who have ran out of ammunition.

Hamas is the military arm of a sovereign government supported by a HEALTHY majority of its citizens. Israels duty is to pound them until they surrender unconditionally and if that means they all fight to the death and their land becomes a barren, lifeless, wasteland to be reclaimed by rain and hard work so be it...

Egypt wants no part of Hamas or Palestinians.

They might bury them, they won’t allow them in.

“Then the Gazans need to overthrow Hamas and sue for peace.”

The GAZANS were the ones who voted them into power in 2006 then allowed them to get rid of elections so hamas could continue to control. The civilians are just as guilty of this problem as hamas is.

And hamas fighters wear no uniforms, kill and torture randomly, use the people of Gaza as kevlar, and they look just like the civilians Biden is saying we should be careful with. This is not a war, it is a criminal act. It falls under no definition of war and it is happening in Israeli land so hamas is not defending anything. The Biden administration is peddling skit. And further proof of this is ht our southern border now is being violaed by many groups not involved with asylum but with terrorism. And the administration is proud they have stopped 260 known terrorists trying to cross the border over the last two years. Imagine how many unknown or smuggled in have crossed and are within the US over in that time frame and before.

Does anyone here even think they would send only 260?

This needs to be required reading in all high schools and colleges.

Every Jew and every American, well for that matter, every European needs to read a true translation of the Holy Quran or Koran.

Then they might understand why this is happening and why it will never stop happening. IMHO these are probably the most accurate translations, and they are FREE.

it really is not a matter of who voted for whom, but a matter of shared beliefs, beliefs shared across the entire muslim world. Hamas’ claim to fame is they are open about that belief and acted on it.
