We’ve been there. We read into serious financial distress about 20 years ago and could no longer support our then-teen daughter’s equestrian sport. We were forced to sell her horse. There is nothing more devastating to a young equestrienne, especially in her mid-teens, than losing her horse.
I think our daughter still suffers terribly from that trauma.

One of my best friends growing up had a horse and it got loose and was killed by a car. Friend was devastated for a long time.
I just don’t get people. If this happened to me, the last thing I would think of would be to prop my phone up and then go back to the horse, and proceed to start crying and post it on the internet for attention.
