EMP Weapons: How China Will Punch Out Our Lights

On 6 July China’s dictator-for-life, Xi Jinping, ordered his military to “deepen war and combat planning.” At the same time, the Biden administration (and most of Congress) will not recognize that the CCP has already declared war on them and the rest of America. As a result, our international and domestic defenses are vulnerable in many vital areas.

To match Xi Jinping’s preparations for war we must accelerate rebuilding our navy with more ships and submarines, we must create a real ICBM defense, we must stop thousands of Chinese illegals now flooding across our borders, and we must round up those already hiding in our cities and towns.

1962, Starfish Prime

Our foremost task, however, must be to ensure that our electricity grid is able to withstand an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP). Such a pulse can come from nature as coronal mass ejection – a solar flare – as it did in 1859. That sun flare caused the “Carrington Event,” the most intense geomagnetic storm in our planet’s recorded history. Electronics were rare those days, but telegraph wires acted as antennas for the sun’s energy pulse and it knocked out telegraph systems across America.

The next EMP event was man-made. In 1962, Starfish Prime was a test of a 1.4 megaton H-bomb above the Johnston atoll in the Pacific. Detonated 250 miles above the surface it resulted in an unexpected High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) that reached Hawaii, 900 miles away. It knocked out streetlights, set off burglar alarms, and damaged a microwave link that shut down telephone calls from Kauai to other Hawaiian islands. There was no fallout or blast damage to cities and towns below by that detonation in the stratosphere. It was so far above the surface it could best be seen at night,

China now has EMP weapons on their ICBMs and on ships, submarines, and probably on some satellites. Their EMP missiles need only to be detonated above our aircraft carriers in the Pacific to render their radars, radios, and navigation systems useless – as well as those of every aircraft they carry. Because of the range of an EMP pulse, they don’t need direct hits. A miss by a mile will do.

They punch out our lights, we punch out 33 of their dams...
The exchange rate in bodies will be about 500,000 Americans for 25,000,000 chicoms...

THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) missile systems are designed to take those out before detonation or ground delivery. 700 missiles have been delivered and the system has gone 16/16 successful intercepts in testing. U.S. also continues on-again off-again development of boost-phase ICBM missile defense.

Still wouldn’t hurt to have our power grid hardened to protect against EMPs...the sun can do that to us as well.

Serious EMP device detonate far above what the THAAD can deal with. Anti-sat vs anti-air.

Sorry, with all due respect, the pentagon has done extensive computer modeling on this scenario, and the U.S. casualties comes out closer to 300 million. I think the actual rate put out was 90% death rate within one year. Feel free to look it up.

China and Russia are not our EMP concerns. Yes, if we ever had a nuclear exchange with either, we would be just as devastated by EMP as from blast and radiation. So would they, hence deterrence. Hezbollah or Iran or the NORKS using a few nukes launched from freighters in the Gulf of Mexico or off the East Coast could destroy American society and starve millions of us to death. If you want to scare the bejeebers out of yourself, listen to this.

Saw him in 77 when he opened for Foghat and the arena went dark for a second each time at that part.

Pat Thrall was in the band who later wrote a guitar lesson book that also came with a record that taught me how to play. I owe him much.

Three EMPs over America, and most of the country will be dead within a month from starvation. Newt Gingrich warned the DOD of EMPs 20 years ago.

Yup. Read: “One Second After” for a depiction of what life will be like after an EMP strike.

The trick is to stay far enough away so that such weapons don’t render the user impotent as well when it comes to tactical battlefield use.

As for continental electronic “buster” use the issue is that weapons that might be powerful enough to knock out the US will knock out Mexico and Canada as well which would cause more issues for the attacking country than not. Also Alaska might not be affected and forward bases would not be affected and our already hardened military facilities would not be affected. Subs would not be affected.

No one really knows for certain how to contain the effects of a continent wide emp to just that continent. Certainly we have short area range data using weapons with conventional explosives. We know what lightning can do.

A continent wide emp attempt is a hail Mary sort of thing. The effects would certainly not be as blanketing as the user country might hope and the vagaries of topology and geology and even man made tower structures will minimize the effects in many areas. It would also have to be a night shot as the magnetic fields are thicker on the night side and thinned out on the day side due to solar wind. The Earth’s curvature also would affect the blast timing and the blast altitudes.

I think we’ll see drone type emps taking out smaller targets perpetrated by sleeper cells in co-ordinated simultaneous terror attacks before any large scale emp’s are attempted.

Let's hope they don't put them on their balloons because we let them fly right over us now
