Why are individuals who claim to be peaceful Muslims not distancing themselves from Imam Husham Al-Husainy and his anti-American and dangerous rhetoric, but rather endorsing and promoting it?

Why is the US government keen on ignoring radical islamists ON OUR SOIL merely hours prior to the 22nd consecutive year recounting its failure to identify and punish all of the 9/11 plotters?
The corollary, of course, is regarding their labeling the 'greatest domestic terror threat' which is nothing of the sort (white supremacists), but I digress.
