It's not hard to figure out what is keeping USA Today "domestic security correspondent: Josh Meyer awake at night. The gnawing fear that a lack of censorship could lead to disinformation being spread during the 2024 election. This is reflected in his sprawling 2,618-word USA Today article on Wednesday, "Amid Elon Musk's Twitter changes, why 2024 presidential election threats now pose bigger risk."

Their shortened version of the headline: "The 2024 election on Twitter: Are Elon Musk's changes posing a danger?"

What is the danger? "Misinformation," according to nebulous unnamed "lawmakers and regulators, former Twitter executives, national security officials and other analysts."

The greatest IRONY is that those screaming loudest about "misinformation" perpetuated the biggest piece of misinformation in the 2020 election namely that Hunter Biden's laptop was the result of Russian disinformation and used that FRAUDULENT excuse to censor the NY Post story about it.

Correct, they are not afraid of mis-information, they fear actual real true information.

Josh Meyer and people that have problems with free speech to the point that they obsess about misinformation and censorship should be put out of their misery. It’s a real shame that they are so upset that it disturbs them to the point that it becomes an obsession. The solution to mis-dis-mal-information has always been more free speech.

I’ve recently formulated an axiom for leadership in problem solving. It comes from a recent Jordon Peterson video. Essentially, anyone extremely outspoken about a problem (“crisis”) that presents a solution to the problem that requires government or organizational compulsion is unfit to solve the problem and is unfit to lead. Tune them out.

Try the axiom on for size using climate change, pandemic, or any other so-called crisis. Obviously, this does not include problems where laws are being broken. Government compulsion is required in many of those cases.

“It’s not hard to figure out what is keeping USA Today “domestic security correspondent: Josh Meyer awake at night.”

Maybe it will help Josh sleep if someone tells him that Americans, at least for now, are welcome to IGNORE any disinformation they see on Twitter.

"The lack of FBI oversight on their disinformation program leads to 2024 election disinformation."

There, corrected the headline.
