23andme for trans people?
I convinced my friend to take a 23andme DNA test for fun (she was born male but now identifies as female), and her results came back with a Y-DNA haplogroup and only one X chromosome. This was really problematic for her and made her feel uncomfortable. Does anyone know if 23andme makes any accommodations for trans people? Has anyone here had any experience with it?

Is this rock bottom for society and we’ll now start going back up?
That can’t be for real.
These non-thinking sickos send a DNA sample to a lab and expect what? This just shows you that they blindly accept the notion that if you identify one way, then somehow magically their DNA changes?! Instead of accepting that he is still a he, he gets “upset” and feels uncomfortable. Why send your DNA off in the first place? Honestly, what was he expecting? Wow, just wow!
bkmk
If of course this is real.
I think it’s satirical.
OK, once again. Males are the result of an y sperm combining with an egg. Females are the result of an x sperm combining with an egg. The resultant 9 months of fetal development during gestation cannot be changed by any known laws of science.
Science is literally hate speech, these days and the truth is violence..
Eh ???
There is profit potential here.
How long in this insane society before a law is passed to FORCE DNA analysis companies to change their findings to conform to the wishes of the customer?
Yes, they will one day be made to lie and deny science.
It will start with lawsuits against the DNA companies for “misgendering” them. (In reality, the DNA companies are correctly gendering them, and they are misgendering themselves.)
No science can convince people in a cult to quit believing the cult’s lies.
Well there was this Cracked.com article that 23andme quickly disavowed ... but ...
But when Inside Edition had a set of triplets send their spit in to Ancestry.com and 23andMe, they got wildly different results from both services. Neither gave each triplet the same ancestry results -- which, considering they all came from the same womb, is pretty weird.
So, who knows?
How are they supposed to pre-emptively know anyone’s particular brand of stupid?
It’s only in the Satanic West. Not in the sane potions of the world.
Some of the ethnicity estimates might vary because they are based on statistical comparison of markers in a person’s DNA to the prevalence of those markers in ethnic groups. While the distribution of markers is consistent for the group, an individual taken from the group might not have the same distribution of markers. They could have all of them or none.
However, other aspects of the DNA analysis are spot on. Another company has correctly identified all of my cousins and uncle who have also submitted DNA samples. And they tell me about new relatives all the time (I have thousands).
Why would any accomadation be made? Doesn’t matter how one feels. The genes are the genes
The Babylon Bee should just go ahead and close its doors for good.
