D-Day Messages from Trump and DeSantis (VANITY)
Twitter/Truth Social | 6/6/2023 | thefactor

Posted on 06/06/2023 7:04:37 AM PDT by thefactor

Today is D-Day. We all know its significance.

Here is DeSantis' message on Twitter: "On the anniversary of D-Day, we remember the brave men who gave their lives to protect our nation against great evil."

Here is Trump's message on Truth Social: "ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!! Don't let it happen." And, "They are going after me as RETRIBUTION for the Republicans in Congress going after them. The difference is, they have created major crimes, I have created none!"

I think we can see who pays homage to the heroes of WW2 and who cannot take even one minute to stop making everything about himself.

Someone may take Trump's phone at some point today and type out a message about D-Day, but it will be hollow. We all know he cares only about himself. While DeSantis, who actually served, cares about this nation and its history.

See if this thread provokes more fighting over this Trump vs. DeSantis situation.

Oh I’m sure the usual suspects will show up. I will be called a “globalist” and “traitor” and “swamp monster” and “biden lover” simply because I no longer support their deity Trump. Should be plenty of “TDS!” accusations.

Yep, see if they show up.

It’s frustrating how Free Republic has degenerated too often into these food fights and name calling and personal attacks, because someone doesn’t support the candidate the attacker supports. We should all be better than that. We should be able to discuss issues and candidates, compare and contrast the qualities of candidates, positions, etc. without all this personal vitriol which is displayed too often here.

We are better than that, or should be. We aren’t raucous liberals.

Your TDS is showing...

Trump is active on Truth Social.
He may post a few comments about everything going on in his life..

Stolen elections and just us has consequences..

If he doesn’t say anything today about it, then feel free to take a dig.

But if he does, amidst all his other posts, know a sign of severe TDS is waiting for Trump to post about something that you want him to comment on. When you want him to comment on it..

Baited breath awaiting a post from Trump is one way to drive yourself batty..

One could hope Trump makes you wait for his comment a few hours.

One could also hope Trump doesn’t make you wait because you may not be able to handle the not knowing...

There’s nothing interesting here.

Trump paid homage to D-Day as president and it was turned into a scandal over a helicopter ride that weather wasn’t permitting (as I recall) and with rumors he called the dead soldiers stupid. No one went on record that he said it while plenty went on record they never heard it including anti Trumper John Bolton.

Obsession about Trump social media posts is as unhelpful as him making them. It’s all a distraction. Both men would be virtue signaling like any politician.

The food fights are the usual activity during recent election cycles.

Couldn’t agree more. Both candidates are human and have their flaws. I am a Trump supporter. I believe he is the only one who could rally independents in the general election. I will vote for whoever the nominee will be and I hope others do the same. Remember, it is an uphill battle because we still refuse to address election integrity.

That's your opinion. Mine is different. I believe a President who professes to love this nation should send a D-Day message first thing, as Europe is several hours ahead of the US and the dawn has already broken on the cliffs of Normandy by the time we wake up.

But Trump has chosen to rant and rave (again) about the phantom stolen election of years ago. Sad, really.

My take is entirely different. DeSantis issued a milquetoast statement, likely written by his handlers, that is Blandon expected. Unfortunately, the freedom that was fought for has been taken away in America and Trump address that issue.

So you agree that D-Day is insignificant and Trump shouldn’t waste his time on it. Instead, he should keep harping on 2020, as he does the other 364 days of the year. Thank you for letting us know where you stand on the matter.

I expected this take from you. Always nice to see Trump cultists show up and defend his insulting of WW2 veterans by ignoring them.

Hilarious.
All you can do is insult and call names.
Thinking? Not evident.
Bitterness?
Always.
Carry on.

Take it easy on the Trump-or-Die FReepers. If their worship of the man wavers they will each be forced to remove 10 bumper stickers from their vehicle, 3 flags from their property, and rename their daughter.

Rich that Trump, a sitting president during the 2020 election, is lecturing the rest of us on the need to combat voter fraud.

If showing respect to WW2 vets on D-Day makes me a member of the swamp, sign me up.

I’ve been here a long time and it started with the “Bushbots”. From 1999 to 2007 you could utter an unkind word about the GWB family. During that same time we also had a number of Cheney Chicks who got vapors just thinking about Dick Cheney.

Now it’s trumpistas.
