Loretta Lynn - For God, For Country, For Family & Moms

In the Sixties and Seventies Loretta Lynn was perhaps a female equivalent of Trump in 2016.

She raised her glorious country voice for forgotten people - mothers and families:

" Liquore just don't mix with love. "

" My attitude toward men who mess around is simple: If you find 'em, kill 'em. "

Wife and I saw Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter, Tayla Lynn in concert. She talked about Loretta, her ‘mee-maw’ and a local woman who Loretta caught sneaking across Loretta’s backyard to see Loretta’s husband. Tayla said ‘mee-maw took her down’. Loretta’s song ‘Fist City’ is based on real life events.

I believe there was a special about her life on one of the streaming services, it was quite good. Maybe it was the movie?

After Loretta passed away there was a tribute concert at the Opry where other artists sang some of her songs. The best performance of the night was Jack White, blue hair and all, singing ‘Van Lear Rose’, the title track of her Grammy winning album that White played on and produced. Loretta’s dad worked at the Van Lear Coal Mine, which ties in with title of the song.

I’m not a Country/Western fan except for Loretta Lynn. I’ve seen her in concert several times and it was always a joy. She sang with sincerity and made you feel what she was singing about.

That Jack White is one weird dude.
Talent out the wazoo.
His music in the sound track of the movie Cold Mountain is great.
