Two additional brigades are reinforcing the combat capabilities of Ukrainian Ground Forces and Air Assault troops.
Ukrainian command has decided to form two brigades, 49th Artillery Brigade and 82nd AirAssault Brigade. While the first belongs to the Ground Forces of Ukraine, as any other artillery brigade, 82nd joins the Ukrainian elite Air Assault forces.
49th Artillery Brigade is a new artillery brigade of Ukrainian Ground Forces currently at the stage of formation. The brigade is under the command of Operational Command North.
82nd AirAssault Brigade is a new elite brigade of Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, currently finishing the last stage of formation and will soon be deployed to the front.

The head of the international human rights organisation Agora has reported that enlistment offices in 35 Russian regions have begun extensively sending out call-up notices to local residents.

Details: Chikov presented a list of 35 regions where call-up notices are being sent out, including Moscow and St Petersburg, the oblasts of Leningrad, Moscow, Belgorod and Murmansk, and the Altai, Perm, Krasnoyarsk and Krasnodar territories.
Chikov did not explain where he had obtained this information, but in his estimation, there is no question of a second wave of mobilisation yet.
Quote: “The ones that raise the most questions are the call-up notices for military training, which can only be held after a presidential decree. There has been no such decree - at least none that has been published.”
Details: Novaya Gazeta Europe confirmed that call-up notices are being distributed in Moscow. An attempt was made to serve their reporter with one, which demanded that he go to the enlistment office “to clarify military registration documents”.
Earlier, authorities in the Russian regions said call-up notices were being sent out in order to “update military records” or invite the recipients for military training.

Update on Russian military operations in Ukraine for March 16, 2023:
- Russian warplanes intercepted and apparently clipped the propeller of a US MQ-9 drone carrying out surveillance near Crimea;
- The US has no means of recovering the drone, though Russia may have an opportunity to recover it;
- While the drone operated in international airspace according to the US, it was collecting intelligence on behalf of Ukraine as part of ongoing hostilities, as a party of the conflict and thus threatening Russian national security;
- Bakhmut continues to face encirclement;
-The Western media has begun admitting to the grim deterioration of Ukraine’s forces under the weight of Russia’s strategy of attrition;
- Ukraine has lost the majority of troops trained by NATO over the last 8-9 years;
- Ongoing NATO training is rushed, incapable of meeting or exceeding Russia’s pool of trained manpower;
- Ammunition and weapons are also admittedly running out;
- Ukraine may or may not be diverting reserves for an upcoming spring offensive to instead fight in Bakhmut; - Any possible counteroffensive around Bakhmut might indicate just how badly deteriorated Ukraine’s forces have become;

We have never been closer to World War III than we are today under Joe Biden. A global conflict between nuclear-armed powers would mean death and destruction on a scale unmatched in human history. Finally, we have to finish the process we began under my Administration of fundamentally reevaluating NATO’s purpose and NATO’s mission. Our foreign policy establishment keeps trying to pull the world into conflict with a nuclear-armed Russia based on the lie that Russia represents our greatest threat.
