Rogers got it started before even the first vote, by threatening Gaetz and anyone else on that committee, that if they didn’t vote for McCarthy, he would kick them from it:

Despite this threat, Gaetz then blatantly pulled every string to deny McCarthy, for several days, culminating in him being the last and final deciding vote to block him on the 14th vote, which was critical because at that point McCarthy had already declared to the media he had the votes to win that time.
It was then that first McCarthy, then Rogers, then Crenshaw all came, one after another, to voice their displeasure with Gaetz. It’s still a little uncertain what happened after that point, that resulted in McCarthy finally winning on the next vote, but Gaetz clearly seems to have secured the last laugh.
At least in this episode. I’m afraid there will be more to come, so please use this moment to set your compasses on who to support from here.

Yes. Interesting the propaganda value of a nicely timed photo. A fighter would not have let that stand. So leaning forward is grounds for restraint?
I’m less concerned about the impact on this congressmen as opposed to how propaganda can be used.
Mike Rogers went after the wrong man. He should have gone after Jerry Nadler. The optics would have been hilarious.
I am in Alabama. Rogers is not that bad, either.
He sued in Federal Court to have the 2020 elections thrown out in Mich, Wisc, Penns, and Arizona. He voted NO to certify the election results (on January 6th).
He stood with Pres. Trump when a hell of a lot of the GOP ran into the tall grass.
