Had the opportunity to attend my very first gun show at the Benton, AR Gun And Knife Show last weekend, along with some neighbors. It was a hoot!
As gun ownership in Kalifornia is anything but easy, and especially so in Sillycon Valley, I'd never, in thirty-five years there, undertaken to attend such a show. But enough about that place.
I'm told this was a comparatively small show.
What surprised me first off was the variety of people attending: Families with small kids, all races, all ages, both genders.
Good advice in general

I used to ride with an older dude who was a Revolver Speed Shooter. He was fun.
We are teaching our girlfriend to shoot. She’s fallen in love with our vintage nickel plated Colt Python. We had 4 speed loaders laying around for it.
She’s getting pretty good with it and loves the gun. We got her a nice period matching leather holster and pouches.
Can’t accuse her of having poor taste in firearms.

I’m glad he had a good time. But the gun shows I’ve been to the a couple years back sucked. Poor selection and price gouging. Big buyers buy up ammo and then trickle it out. 9mm ball ammo still $35 for 50 rds. $60 for 20 rds of premium 30-06. F*** them.

Back in the late 80’s early 90’s the bad attitude towards freedom a$$e$ were filming and taking stills at the entrance at one in Austin.
Most of this century and maybe late 90’s.
Started for keeping the media out and from recording at the shows, later included cells phone cameras.
