INSANELY VULNERABLE: If Russia cuts off supply of enriched uranium to US power companies, America’s nuclear energy reactors will close within a year

Former Department of Energy (DoE) Under Secretary Paul Dabbar and Columbia University energy researcher Matt Bowen have published a report warning that America’s energy crisis could soon get a whole lot worse if Russia stops selling enriched uranium to nuclear power plants.

If supplies get cut, they say, then many United States nuclear power generation facilities would be forced offline within a year. The result would be much less energy availability and sky-high prices even beyond current inflation figures.

Nuclear power accounts for more than 20 percent of all U.S. electricity generation capacity, and nearly half of the country’s 56 operational nuclear power plants use enriched uranium imported from Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Although Russia only mines about six percent of the world’s uranium, it controls about 40 percent of the global uranium conversion market and 46 percent of total uranium enrichment capacity.

Not to worry. You can impose whatever restrictions on Russia “to crush it”, but it is not going to retaliate because you’d say it is against contract and all fine.

Oh, forgot. The Ukraine War Supporters (the Democrats) earlier forced the US to end Uranium Enrichment.

Bummer, I guess we have to go green now.

All comes back to the Hildabeast selling off US uranium to Russia when she was Secretary of State.

*sigh* The sky is falling again. That’s what, the fiftieth time this year?

We produce uranium. Although the EPA has strangled the supply with regulations. It’s available in a lot of places not named Russia. We’d have to start placing orders now, though. That’s how supply lines work. If there is no future cash waiting then the suppliers just sit on whatever they have because it takes investment to get it out.

The reason everyone buys from Russia...and Chian for that matter, is because their lack of regulation and cheap labor make all Western sources uncompetitive. But neither has a lock on anything, “rare” metals, oil, gas, uranium...etc.

It should be clear to everyone that globalism is now dead.

Unfortunately, the bubble-dwelling globalists in Washington DC are still very much alive.

A US company bought Uranium One back after the Hillary deal. Reading the article, it sounds like the US must have reduced our uranium refining capacity.

And the US energy department is destroying our stocks of U233, despite it's use in medical applications and thorium reactors.

A lot of people in this country actually believe that.

Critical thinking is in very short supply here.
