Via Twitter, popular account Libs of TikTok posted an Amazon staff meeting where the team described author and commentator Matt Walsh’s kids’ book “Johnny the Walrus” as “traumatic” and “problematic.”
The book is about a kid named Johnny who believes he is a walrus, even cladding in spoons for tusks and tube socks for fins to resemble the aquatic mammal. Initially, his mother thinks it’s a phase he will outgrow.
However, society pressures her to allow Johnny to transition into a walrus, with even a doctor offering to transform the kid’s feet into fins.
During the Amazon staff meeting, one employee said: “It’s been a very traumatic experience for transgender Amazonians and our transgender customers. What I don’t want to come out of this is slamming the books team with a bunch of tickets; they’re already aware of this. There will be, there are things in this space that are happening.”

Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2022I really hope this was satire.As someone who only recently came out as a trans-demi-sexual walrus furry, I find this book to be highly offensive. Mr. Walsh clearly does not understand the struggles that I, a trans-demi-sexual walrus furry goes through on a daily basis. He does not understand my lived experience. This reminds me of January 6th! This skinny jean wearing, nacho cheese pizza eating, plaid shirt wearing bigot needs to be stopped!
Stop the hate, do not buy this book!

Serious psychosis going on with those people if they get that upset over that book and story. Very serious.
I am an expert in sarcasm. I am toying with advanced sarcastic techniques such as double and double plus sarcasm. I am involved in research projects such as reverse inadvertent subtle overt sarcasm and applied paradoxical upside up sarcasm. It’s difficult to explain to people not in the field.
As an expert in the field, I can confidently say...this is most certainly that.
I’m so tired of these little zillennials whining about being “traumatized” over every little thing. It’s time we started telling ‘em, “Tough toenails. Go polish your participation trophies and deal with it.”

These guys really don’t get it, the one way to make something really popular and give it great advertising is the ban it. People always desire the forbidden fruits.
