I understand Will Smith smacked Chris Rock live onstage at the Oscars last night because Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife’s (Jada Pinket-Smith) hair.
I guess without President Donald Trump to curse at and kick around it was inevitable that they turn on each other.
Maybe we should just cancel the Academy Awards until we elect someone they all hate again.

I never ever discuss black women and their hair. Not an easy chore. You just don’t go there. It’s like the “C” word or “N” word is the “H” word for black women.
Relax. It was all a setup.
1) We are actually talking about the Oscars program the next day. When was the last time we could say that?
2) Will is a pretty big guy (compared to Chris Rock).
3) Will has had some boxing training and obviously gaffed a lot of fights in his movie career.
4) Chris Rock rolled out of that like a pro, leading me to believe that Will tipped the punch/slap.
5) Chris did not go down, did not walk off, and did not press charges.
Savages
Smith should have gotten another oscar for his staged fight performance, and Rock a “Best supporting actress” award. If anyone connected that hard with someone, they would have gone down and Rock moved very little. STAGED!
Both Rock & Smith have an 'authenticity' problem. They are always trying to boost their street cred.
>>is black. Where was his privilege?
Worst Actor: Jussie Smolett
Actors act and black actors act black. 13%
Good thing he didn’t bring a tennis racket either.
Agreed. Black men don’t slap. Rock was ready for it.
If you observe closely most commercials on TV. They star the Young Black woman.
So, pro wrestling has gone Hollywood?
I refuse to believe that. No way no how the Academy would allow that whole scene. They don't care about audience so they don't care about ratings and would not set up a violent attack and profanity thinking that's a good thing.
I’m guessing the William’s family is embarrassed at this behavior which is contrary to the image set in the King Richard Film.
Maybe not ratings per se, but they at least want people talking about it, so I say, “Mission Accomplished!”
If proven otherwise, I'll stand corrected. But if The Academy authorized and staged a physical attack, that would be 1,000,000,000% overboard. I can't believe they would make that business decision.
I’m beginning to think this was staged as well.
Even if it was staged its still a pathetic example of society’s ghettofication.
Exactly what I think. Many black women have gone to butch-like shaves, as a choice, so how was Rock to know that it wasn’t a fashion choice? The least Smith could have done was stand up and say, “not sure you know this Bro, but my wife has a medical condition and she should be admired for not sticking a wig on her head.” That would have spoken volumes to many women with not only alopecia but cancer.
My beautiful niece died of brain cancer and had several invasive operations and treatments. She refused to wear a wig, saying cancer will not win and make her something she wasn’t. She also said, “Because of God, I have been attractive all my life, now he wants me to search more inwardly for beauty.” When she was losing her speech, she said, “I have talked to much, now God wants me to listen”. She also said, laughingly, “HAIR IS OVERRATED”.
Now it’s a conspiracy:

i admit i did not watch it happening live, i never watch the award shows.
For Will to get that upset over a joke about her hair- not her boyfriend- makes no sense to me.
Also i’d like to think Will could deliver a better punch.
Slapping’s for old ladies.
Black on Black crime at the Oscars.
