Still Waiting On Spring

Good morning peeps, sunrise in the mist

I know it’s spring for many of you around the country, but up here in the mountains, although it’s warm this weekend, spring is still but a dream off on sone misty horizon.

I know I promised the story of my trip to the DMV but it will have to wait awhile. Truth is I’ve been dealing with vertigo and balance issues ever since my “mild” Covid incident at the beginning of January. While it’s likely “long-haul Covid” between it and the ongoing fatigue it is wearing me down. I have an appointment with an ENT specialist but it’s still a couple of weeks off (thank you Obamacare!). So I will continue to stumble around, attempting to stay upright.

Until I regain my ballast, most posts will be abbreviated – although I’m half way through the DMV story so I will post it eventually.

Spring cannot get here soon enough.

Cold here in south central PA, too; 34° this morning and 26° last night. It may be calendar Spring, but Winter's still with us.

OMG, I’ve been noticing the same thing since my bout with Covid that started January 7th. I had three scary vertigo episodes last weekend but nothing since, knock on wood.

In one of Bill Whittle's recent videos he talked about how it seems that antihistamines are helpful in dealing with long-haul covid because, as a doctor he talked to explained, long-haul appears to be some sort of allergic reaction in the body. If you can take Benadryl (most people can without problem), I'd give it a try for a couple days to see what happens. This doctor had good success with it.

Here's the video I mentioned above. Sorry, I don't know how to make a link. Start at around the 1-hour mark to get to the heart of it (but the whole thing on covid is worth listening to).

I would read "Moby Dick" - a chapter a day. Re-read the chapter as necessary. By the time you finish, spring will be here and you'd have absorbed one of the great American novels. One that was a failure at publication but a classic after the author died.

With music, art, literature and film, you really only appreciate an artist after they die. That's just the way it is. Fifty years after my death, many will appreciate what I have created in life.

I had covid in January too. Then a vertigo issue about three weeks ago. Weird.
