Our #1 goal for settling the Ukraine crisis should be a regime change in Russia. If necessary to save lives let’s give Putin a personal amnesty for his many crimes, but as long as he is the leader of Russia the sanctions should remain.

Not in the US interests to care or do anything about that, if it were true. Russia’s problem, same with the African strongmen who do the same to their people. We’d be at constant war all over the world if it were our fish to fry.
Plus, there’s enough bad-guyism to go around. Zelinskyy came to power only because his people staged a coup (with US help) in 2014 that overthrew a democratically elected government.
Thus a person can either be a hypocrite due to fandom of their favorite dictator or say “there’s no angelic virgin here” and say pox on all the houses involved.

Have you considered the American blood on the hands of US presidents? The number of strange deaths with ties to the Clintons. The possibility Franklin Roosevelt allowed Pearl Harbor to happen so he could justify the war he wanted. Roosevelt may have also been involved in the assassination of Huey Long, a political opponent. He also interned thousands of American citizens of Japanese descent.
President Harry Truman used nuclear weapons to destroy two Japanese cities, purposefully targeting the civilian population. The decision may have resulted in a faster end to the war, but was it moral?
Abraham Lincoln and his generals committed atrocities against civilians in the US Civil War that make Ukraine civilian casualties look like a picnic. Sherman’s “March to the Sea” was a purposeful and brutal assault on the civilian population of Georgia, not a military battle between two armies. Ukraine is a former Russian state Putin is trying reunite with mother Russia. Weren’t the Confederate states breakaway states which Lincoln invaded and subjugated, to restore the “union” with horrendous loss of life?
LBJ may have been involved in the assassination of his predecessor and certainly had no qualms about killing over 50,000 US citizens in Vietnam, a country which represented no threat to the US homeland. What was achieved by the blood shed by Americans to benefit to the people of the US?
Consider also the thousands American citizens who die every year at the hands of illegal immigrants due to the open borders policies of several recent U.S. presidents. Isn’t the failure of these presidents to protect the border directly responsible for these deaths?

Andrew Jackson was a bloodthirsty Indian fighter before becoming POTUS. Remember the “Trail of Tears” and the Native Americans who died on a forced March from their homes in the eastern US to Oklahoma at the orders of a U.S. president.
Recall the Middle East wars of Bush father and son which killed and maimed how many thousands of US citizens over three decades? What was the positive outcome for our nation and its citizens? Most recently, what about the botched exit from Afghanistan ordered by Joe Biden to fulfill a campaign pledge? Doesn’t he have the blood of American citizens on his hands? Obama and Hillary’s actions related to Benghazi needlessly spilled the blood of Americans.
Putin may be a murderer but he isn’t alone. If you are arguing in favor of a U.S. policy to force a regime change in Russia due to Putin’s crimes, are you also supporting the US taking action to force regime change in China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, North Korea and every other nation whose leaders are involved in murder? Please explain why the US should be the police force for the world when we won’t even preserve the integrity of our own border? Even more significant, given our history how can we claim the moral authority to selectively interfere in conflicts between other nations?
