That’s a very good question.
People just need to stop and think.
“Why am I making this decision, again?
Is this something I want or something the invisible “They” want?”
I learned long ago not to paralyze myself by worrying what other’s think. We used to help people with mental illness, now we are to cower in fear as they run roughshod over us. Nope!
The response to this manipulation is a big “So what?”
Repeated over and over.
Example
Because it huts people.
“So what?”
Because that is not right.
“So what?”
Because I think it is wrong.
“So what?”
Because we will call the police.
“So what?”
