This old contruction guy tells us what happend at his work when the safety man told employees to get the jab or your fired. They all got upset and headed to the gate. However, before they got to the gate the safety man came back and said never mind you do not have to get it. (language warning)

Push will come to shove as more and more vaccine deadlines come up. At least the safety man in that video backed down. But I predict that our egotistical government officials will not back down.

You are right about the chaos. The video
here is a recent message from a Chicago police union leader to Chicago police officers facing a Friday deadline to show their vaccine status.
A short summary might be "No", and the union is expecting to have to litigate and have up to 1/2 of its members locked out of their jobs over the weekend.
Having only 1/2 of the Chicago police department working is likely to create a mess in Chicago.

To be fair, someone older who may not *need* the job can probably stand their ground and live with the consequences if it backfires. Someone a lot younger, with children and a mortgage, this may not make that sacrifice.
