the truth is, with a bankrupt Fed.gov and worthless US dollar from a “split” and what would obviously cause a debt default - the Blue states would become “red states” before too long.

The left will never secede - their “country” would be made up of a couple dozen cities, and a few neighboring counties, and that’s it. Even in blue New York and California, most of the counties are red and would vote to leave their states and rejoin the US.
Great idea. But, when their side fails do not come crying to us. Stay in your own half and let us live a decent life without your stupid antics.
Here is an example. Libs think men can have babies. We are lucky now. According to libs men can have babies. So now a man should be able to impregnante himself and give birth. We no longer need women to do that. That should help cut down on abortions.
I keep asking libs to show me a video of a man having a live birth. I want to see what hole the baby comes out of, but they always shut down the conversation when I ask.

Dividing into “Red and blue states” would never work.
Because, by area, most states are conservative leaning, and most of the leftists are concentrated in the urban centers. It would never do to let the two and a half leftist cities in my state decide what to do for the other ~ 120,000 square miles of the state.
Dividing by counties might work. Let the leftist urban metropolii become city-states.
Is there a baseline from 5 or 10 years ago to compare this to? Because I don’t think this is really news. And because it’s online, did we get a chance to Freep the poll?

Secession
It's time for us to jettison those who reject our national values because there's no changing them. Time to secede.
We should extend the invitation to secede on a county by county basis.
While we're at it, since we'd be forming a new country, we should extend the invitation to counties in Canada and Mexico as well.
Note that this option is becoming increasingly popular.

The question is which side will have the resource to sustain itself. There is a hierarchy to economies. An economy is made up of three major sectors, primary, secondary, and tertiary.
The primary sector is agriculture; a nation has to feed itself. The agriculture sector is made up of wheats and grains, fruits and vegetables, meats, nuts, juices, etc. A nation without an agriculture sector will starve.
The secondary sector is industry; a nation has to be able to make things. This sector is made up of metals and ores, chemicals and materials, refining and manufacturing, intermediate and finished products, etc. A nation has to make things to grow.
The tertiary sector is services; a nation has to maintain itself to sustain. This sector is made up of the trade services (electrical, plumbing, A/C, automotive, etc.), professional services (advertising and marketing, sales, information, tourism, sciences, etc. A nation has to service its industry or it will collapse.
I don't think the blue states have the resources to feed, grow, and sustain itself without trade with the red states. I don't think the blue states have anything to trade that the red states would need or want.
