There is Western magic in the colors red, white and blue.
Old Glory. The Union Jack. The tricolor. The Aussie and New Zealand flags.
It reminds us of what we have forgotten.
Teamwork. Manliness. Discipline. Freedom.
The sporting team based down the road from me, the Western Bulldogs, has achieved great success this year by playing lots of players. Sharing the work. Showing trust.
Isn't that what life used to be like in the West?
Tonight (the game starts about eleven hours after this post) the Bulldogs take on Port Power to secure a spot in the top four.
Go freedom. Go dogs.
I hope to see some brave attacking play to prove that the free flowing human spirit cannot be locked down.
