It's like a pollster protection racket for Frank Luntz. Pay him for his dubious focus group services or he will actively try to derail you. In 2015 Donald Trump refused to pay Luntz and threw him out of his office. Shortly afterwards, as he can see here by his own admission, Luntz actively tried to derail the Trump train by appealing to the Republican establishment leadership to "do something" to stop Trump.

Our nation now lives in the model of the Hunger Games. We have the Capital with some allied cities who largely control all media and we have the rest of the nation.
Luntz is like the media producer in the movie. The game master who sets the tone and narrative to serve the Capital.
Trump knew polls were for Democrats without a clue about real Americans and the John McCain comments lit the Luntz fuse.
Snakes typically end up getting their heads chopped off....

I can still remember a decade ago when he was on FNC alot. He would be travelling from state to state and allegedly assembling his local focus groups. And yet I would continually notice he had the same huge liberal black woman with crew cut yellow hair in the group no matter what state he was in. I only noticed her because she was so distinctive looking and annoyingly liberal.
Makes me wonder how many more repeat group members I could identify if I had all the old video.
The pettiness of the denizens of DC is unimaginable.

Luntz prattles on about how much the focus group really hated Trump and lays out all the reasons why. So he runs to the GOP and warns them that Trump is going to win......

Whatever happened to McCarthy’s girlfriend from North Carolina?

Or more like the owner of a glass company breaking all of your windows in the middle of the night and then offering to sell you the new glass and repair services to fix the windows.
I remember the first few times I saw him on TV. It seemed like he was trying to steer the focus group he was working with preconceived answers that he wanted by asking them loaded questions.
It was like he couldn't drive the square peg in the round hole so instead, he just drilled out the hole to fit the peg.
Ironically, the negative things he says about Trump are the very things that people liked about him. Trump is the future.
He fits right in with Romney, Cheney, Collins, Murkowski, Flake, Sasse, et. al. in their backward-looking ways. Luntz and the bunch are fading in the rear-view mirror.
Luntz is full of himself. He has an inflated view of his own self-importance. He's out of touch. He needs to find himself a new job.
