Ex-CNN Host Piers Morgan Slams Meghan and Harry Interview as 'Oprah Whine-athon'
Newsbusters ^ | March 9, 2021 | P.J. Gladnick

For a stark contrast to the silly fawning by much of the U.S. media over the Sunday night Oprah Winfrey interview starring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, look no further than Good Morning Britain host (and former CNN host) Piers Morgan.

Morgan penned an acidulous takedown for the U.K. Daily Mail that even puts fury in the headline: "Meghan and Harry's nauseating two-hour Oprah whine-athon was a disgraceful diatribe of cynical race-baiting propaganda designed to damage the Queen as her husband lies in hospital - and destroy the Monarchy."

Not just Piers Morgan but much of the British press in general tends to have a more realistic attitude not only on this but on many topics in general.

Me-again and Harry are down to living on his $32 million inheritance. Near poverty.

What Harry did to his family is sick and twisted. He knows the rules....He knows he wasn’t married three days before. He knows that Archie wasn’t entitled to be a Prince yet...

Yet he allowed his wife to do so much damage to the monarchy.

Although people pin a lot on her (and she isn’t 100% blameless), I think this exercise was supposed to be a hit at his father because Prince Charles quit giving them an allowance.

I bet his father “quit taking his calls” because there was nothing more to discuss on the subject and any other conversation would devolve into trying to get the money payments back.

So the mulatto wife is complaining about her inlaws? This is news? Here's a clue: it's not uncommon for a wife to complain about her inlaws.

She should be ashamed. She never has a financial worry. She doesn't have to work. She has a wonderful house. She has a healthy child and another on the way. Her husband isn't a meth head or a drunk, and he can always pay for dinner when they go out to eat.

I am wondering more and more if he didn’t have his wife do his dirty work for him rather than “allow her” to say anything.

Give her the platforms with the right antidotes gets more sympathy than what he really wanted: a paycheck with no real responsibility.

I watched this interview and the CBS epilogue the next morning.

The most glaring revelation to me was the acknowledgement by all concerned of the power, mendacity, and viciousness of "tabloid journalism" and by inference its danger.

What was not acknowledged is that "tabloid journalism" in the 21st century includes the entire news media, television and internet journalism, and social media.

Although those present deplored the distortions of truth and the utter mendacity, and the viciousness, as do all honest people, truth seekers and the enlightened deplore this everywhere it presents itself, and notably in the behaviour of this "tabloid journalism" toward President Trump and his family.

Truth seekers, the enlightened, deplore mendacity, the distortions of truth, and viciousness everywhere.

Yep.

He clearly blames them for Diana’s death. And may think they actually killed her.

And he may know he is not the son of Charles. They should all know by this point whether he is or is not.

They have a mess on their hands. I don’t see how William can really overcome in his mind what Harry has done to him.

Harry is leaving people to think William is a racist and Kate is a bully.

I think it’s pretty simple. Meeagain is an egotistical wanna-be with delusions of importance. She’s clever and sly enough but ultimately not all that intelligent. But in the Royal Family she is so totally out-classed by Kate Middleton that Meeagain looks like a homeless bum in comparison. Meegagain simply can’t compete. Meeagiin will never be able to admit her total inferiority. Thus it’s mostly just a garden variety cat fight with the loser hiding out in California spreading poison.

“He clearly blames them for Diana’s death. And may think they actually killed her.”

Perhaps Diana would still be alive if she was home with her children instead of running around with a playboy. Did the Royal Family have Diana killed? I doubt it but it sure sounds good to conspiracy folks.

Yep, the corrupt media is problematic for all of society.

this is a woman who was photographed on the railings of Buckingham Palace as a starry-eyed teenager but now wants us to believe she knew nothing about the Royals and never once Googled her handsome Prince when they met. Given these are both obvious lies, why should we believe anything that comes out of her mouth?

Spot on. Comments on UK articles are also shredding them. Just Harry did himself no favors. The world now knows why no British gal would marry him even with the prospect of a crown.

Yep, reduced to living in da hood. Neighbors of Oprah, Rod Lowe, Gwyneth, Spielberg and Ellen. That $14 million tiny little hovel (which Charles purchased) Just Harry is forced to live in costs $4 million a year to maintain. They have to raise backyard chickens to feed little no title Archie. Who knows how they'll feed his soon to be little no title sister... Diana (?). Maybe escargot from the back 5 acres.

MEghan had one job and she failed miserably. One job to smile and act like she's nice. That was it. But she's a Z actress who couldn't pull off the role. Being less than half black would have given her so much celeb with the British commoners. A few please and thank yous would have done her well instead of being a snot mouthed hateful lying witch who "trapped" a prince and spat on all of England and the Commonwealth.

Meghan is the ‘victim du jour’ ... in the US and abroad.

Right now she’s basking in the glow of her victimhood because she succeeded in qualifying for the most inexclusive club in the known universe. Congrats Meghan!

First, no problem for me, and, I suspect, most Americans,to boycott the monarchy.

Who really cares? I think America got over that a very long time ago.

Second, it seems to me that Meghan was indulging in pure race-baiting. Don’t know the rules but I’m pretty sure that Archie wouldn’t be a prince anyway.

Because they doomed him from the start by giving him that ridiculous name. Guess Baby #2 will be named Jughead. ;)

I agree. There really is a bit more point-of-view diversity in British media than there is here. To a somewhat lesser degree, it’s also true in France and Belgium as well (the only two other EU countries I’m familiar with).

With the exception of cable news and the Wall St Journal EDITORIAL page, virtually everyone in US media sings from the same hymnal.

Well Daddy cut him off at 37 (or whatever age he is), took away his public funded security, and only left him with his $30 million inheritance. So damn it! They DESERVE it ALL. /sarc

Harry is dazzling dense, spoiled, vengeful, arrogant and most of all incredibly easy to manipulate (ala Meghan).

And to think his first 'best decision' after getting cut off and being left with ONLY that money was to purchase a home with half that amount with a $140,000 a year property and a 5 acred manicured property with pool to both water and maintain. And that is just the grounds. None to smart.
